Still delusional to think anyone would move to Houston. Houston has failed to attract HQs for the many tech companies, including Tesla, that has chosen Austin/Dallas over others. For Houston to be attractive again, the hurricanes and flooding needs to go away, or the city must start having some sort of attraction that draws young, educated people to the city. But as far as I've seen, if they have options, they're not choosing Houston over any coastal cities. If they're talking about TX, Dallas and Austin are firmly more attractive than Houston. And just to be clear, I love Houston. I've lived there longest out of all the cities I've lived in in my life other than my birth city. Frankly not many people do.
Sadly true, if not for family and career, Houston doesn't have as much to offer as other cities. And I love Houston. Just can't move to Dallas, bunch of pricks, Austin is a great city though.
Never lived in it, so you might be right. All I know is I've enjoyed my visits over there, Dallas not so much.
Austin ppl for some reason like to think they live in California or something lol Houston is the NY of the south culturewise
He doesn’t have to move to Houston. He will be in Austin. This much closer than New York City and Florida where previous owner Les Alexander lives. Plus Elon is the second richest man in the world He made more money last week than 100 Tilmans and Alexander’s in their life time @Reeko @Jontro
Austin is a tech hub. It’s been like that forever. Apparently newbs don’t know that @DaDakota 99ers know history
Again I question your math skills here If I’m worth 500 billion dollars , not a big deal to visit Houston or buy a couple of homes in river oaks for a weekend home. especially when my billion dollar factory is in Austin and I bought a whole town in Texas so I can test my Rockets. If Elon wanted to buy the Rockets it would be like someone buying a PlayStation 5 or an LG OLED @Ziggy Except no wait
I’d be worried about someone like Elon moving the team down the line. I’d prefer a Houston or at the very least Texan owner. How many active fans on Clutchfans. How much would we need to put in the tip jar to make this math work? Lol
He’s so rich this would be just a passion buy Like Steve Balmer like you or me buying demon souls on ps5
Yah. And he may decide he wants to be closer to his passion and move the team to Mars. Which would be cool and all, but the scheduling would be a nightmare.
That would be amazing if it was moved to mars . Don’t forget spaceX and nasa got relationships Steve Balmer should have moved the clippers to Seattle and called them the SuperSonics But he didn’t
If @DaDakota bought the Rockets he would keep it in Houston And he would also be the owner general manager And he would hire 99ers to run the ship too
Thats exactly why you don't buy what you don't want. You pay ridiculous amounts of money for things that you do want. My focus on tech companies should be easy for everyone to understand. They can go literally anywhere. Why would they choose Houston? Because of Rice University? Almost everyone I know who graduated Rice has left Houston. Like I said, I love Houston, but Houstonians are delusional sometimes with the pride letting it mess with their heads.
When I moved to Austin like 30+ years ago, it had a small town vibe, it is more and more like Houston every day. Just growing like a weed. DD
You’ve seen Toyota Center for a 7pm tip off. Imagine the Mars crowd. They won’t arrive until next seasons 4th quarter.
