You act like the person doing the undercut is innocent just because he’s doing his job. Get off your high horse. If that person’s job is to undercut and potentially hurt me, you damn sure I’m going to fight back. Blood for blood. If this shitty league has to come to this, then so be it.
Think bigger picture; it’s a game. The Rockets are not at war with the Warriors. A lot of the players are friends and most are friendly with each other. Why would one intentionally hurt anyone. Know that Harden jumps in real odd angles to get the looks he gets. The other players are trying guard him not take him out. There is the difference. The officials have jobs to do and they aren’t doing it. The officials are there to protect the players not just the game. If not the player’s union needs to step in as well the ownership (not just the Rockets). This is their business and way they take care of their families. Hunting down and hurting and/or ending someone’s livelihood is not the answer. The answer is just don’t play —> The problem is bigger than just one game but one game is a start. The message would be huge and heard. If the missed calls were presented on video for the world to see as to why we didn’t take the court. Show footage of this year and last year. Then explain that it’s about injury over injustice, but both are happening. It would cost us a game that would have been stolen anyway. The league including some of Warriors themselves (the players know they are not always going to be on the favored team) may backup Rockets’ stand. If Labron (Paul’s BFF) and other players already out of the playoffs were to get involved (like a player’s union) it would get really real and fast and not come across as pouting or poor sportsmanship. Don’t wait till the off season do it now while we have some leverage.
None of this is a surprise. The Rockets dealt with the same thing last year against the Warriors. The Kings dealt with it against the Lakers years ago in the playoffs. The NBA has an agenda and always has...... look no further than the old Celtics and Lakers teams. Essentially, if the Rockets want to beat the Warriors, they will need to be about 10 points better because the refs will officiate the way the league wants them to. The refs set the tone in game one, and this won't be the only game in the series that is questionable. If the Rockets manage to tie the series or go ahead, there will be 1-2 more games where there will be controversy. Game 6-7 are going to be hell. Ask the old Pistons and Blazers teams what it was like playing the Bulls and Lakers..... calls were extremely biased.
