He would never have gotten another shot anyways. MLB wanted Luhnow out because he was going to change the scouting processes and he didn't care about what the media thought. He only cared about winning and the MLB elite/ MLB couldn't have that. It would end up costing them to much money. Funny how the Cards org committed a federal crime and got a lesser punishment. This is just another attempt tof MLB to destroy what Luhnow built so order could be restored to the MLB elite.
La Russa getting busted for another DUI right before he was hired. LOL. White Sox are gonna regret that decision.
He must not work for the Athletic... doesn’t he know there are lives at stake and mouths to feed based on the future clicks of re-hashing that scandal?
Hinch is a great manager. With that said, I think Luhnow had the bigger role in creating the Astros juggernaut over the past several years. Those teams were insanely talented -- especially the 2019 team, which was our best team ever. Some say the best offensive lineup ever. We didn't win the WS, but that's baseball -- a sport where even the very best only win 60% of the time. I do not fault Hinch for putting in Wil Harris in Game 7... Howie Kendrick hit a nasty slider that was low and away - virtually an impossible pitch to hit out. It happens 1% of the time... and we got stung. Cole should have pitched in that game -- but only to start an inning.
