DAMMIT!!!! (as Jack Bauer would say) Guess I'll have to read up on this when I get home. We got that Wii Music game for Christmas last year and it's been impossible to get it synced up correctly. So we haven't even played it. Maybe this can fix that?
Yeah its pretty much attaches to the bottom of your wii controller. Every slight movement, spin, draw, fade you make it replicates on screen with incredible accuracy. There's even a golf training game where it will show you how to hold the wii controller like a real golf club, and show you mistakes in your swing etc. I think the wii motion plus is also going to come bundled with one of EA's tennis games too.
Hopefully you don't have YouTube blocked at work. Wii Motion Plus will recognize all your intricate hand motions on your swings. It's supposed to work really well from the reviews I've read. Check out a demo of the Tiger Woods game with Wii Motion Plus: <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ghAx1j8vzD0&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ghAx1j8vzD0&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
^^^^^^ Good stuff. I have TW 9 and it's basically un-playable because of the effed up putting. Looks like they've finally fixed this. Also, I like how the weather on each course is tied into the Wii weather channel. So now, if it's raining in real life at one of the courses, it's raining in the game. That's pretty sweet.
Does anyone not think this is total BS? Isn't the Wii Remote supposed to already work like this without this add-on? They sell us something that works only so so and we're so happy when they sell us something else to make it work the way it is supposed to?
Yup, the Wii should've launched with true 1:1 response, but it certainly didn't. Anyone that's played a few Wii games can tell you that it's not the most accurate thing out there. This should make it extremely accurate and it should've been implemented from the get go. But then Nintendo wouldn't be getting an additional $20 from you now would they?
I put my Wii in the closet when it started feeling like every game coming out needed some new kind of attachment.
I'm getting a little better. Went online to play and got in some group. As soon as a got in a game two dudes said, talking about me, "no one is going to want to play with him" because my stats sucked...and I was in the "beginner" tourney. Jesus...give me a chance. It's my first freakin Tiger Woods game. I'm learning a-holes.
Just bought the game for the Wii. Just got done playing my first round. I had the precision putting on, and used the Standard Swing, since I don't golf. I played the Banff Springs course, with Tiger, just on quick play. I guess I should have gone to the Advanced swing mode. I shot a 63 when the course was a 71 par. This included a hole-in-one on hole 13 (which I replayed about 10 times ). I also had about 3 chip ins. I had a smile on my face the whole time. Okay, now I'm off to try the season mode. P.S. I haven't tried to go online....does it cost, ala Xbox Live, and if so, how much?
I got the game and started my career. I'm really impressed with using the remote. It's easier than I was worried that it would be, but that's a good thing. I haven't done nearly as well as I was doing with the PS2 version a few years ago. Putting is pretty tough and that's my weakest area. I like that my arm gets tired if I play for too long so it keeps me from wasting 3 hours on a video game. I don't know anything about online play yet.
I am HORRIBLE at putting. I just tried the first tourney (Bethpage) and shot a +32 round. Most of that was wasted on putting. This game is addicting, though. I'm off to play another round,
I learned to try and set up the put based on the grid of arrows showing the slope of the green. Once I get it to where I think it should be I push the - button and see how close it is and then move it based on how close I was at first. Maybe that helps or not.
Man, they're trying to suck me in again. I think I probably spend enough time (3 rounds a week) playing real golf though. It looks like they've included everything I could want (except some smoking hot cart girls maybe).
Where can you go to buy a Wii and everything you will need for one to one control for a good price ? I want Grand Slam Tennis and Woods 2010.
You would need just the Wii and the games. I'm pretty sure both Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods 2010 come with the motion plus included. You shouldn't have to buy anything else unless you want a 2nd controller. As for a good price, they're $250 everywhere. I don't know where you can find it any cheaper.
