Nobody would care at all. There are many different races of people walking around in the street. It just doesn't pop into most people's head. Black, Asian, White. Most people walking down the street don't care about the other people on the street's race. Even in the crowded and diverse streets of NYC, people will run you over to get to where they going without a second thought about what race a person is. The only thing that warrants a moment of thought is an attractive woman. Whether woman is black, asian or white, she is going to turn heads.
If tiger were married to a woman of color and banging Superhead,Cladia Jordan, and a bunch of "video vixens", this story wouldn't be anywhere as great. DD, black people aren't as concerned with color as u think,but we notice when the scales are different. How many times have you heard of a ploice accidentally shooting a white person? When I listen to the news and I may be busy doing something else and not watching. When I hear of the story without seeing, I already know the guy shot or killed is of color. As non threatning as tiger would seem, his transgressions are such 1 should be enough. The fact all are white opens wounds I think.When jordan was going thru his thing with his wife, the coverage wasn't a tenth of this and jordan is still a very visible figure.

There are many black athletes with white wives and mistresses. It would be easier to name the black athletes that were married to a black woman and slept with only black women. News about Tiger's mistress came out before the accident, but nobody cared. It was only after he got sent to the hospital, that it became news.

exactly, but when a black man (and by black, I mean in this country you're considered black if one of your parents is, for the most part) is successful people want to debate what race he belongs to. I would argue that more than 50% of black people in this country have someone in their ancestory who isn't black. its just normal for blacks. anyway, I don't want to get caught up in this because it doesn't matter to but sometimes I do find it a little offensive.
Look at Tony Parker, he cheated on his latina supposedly with white women. Nobody cares. When TV, newspapers, and magazines were bombarding us with stories of David Letterman, Brad Pitt/Jolie/Aniston, it's normal. However, it's racism, if it's Tiger Woods? Ironically, getting the same media coverage as the white cheaters is bring cries of racism.
I see your point. My theory, if the black people involved have some noteriety, some "above average" standing, I think that WOULD keep the story more juicy. If it was a modest looking black wife and anonymous black girl working at the wings place, no wouldnt be as great . If its between cheating with Jenna Jameson or Heather Hunter, there's still going to be plenty story there regardless. Nowadays its about who has fame and money rather than color. Another factor...stereotyping here, I think white woman play into the tabloid circuit more than black woman. Its there where they use their "desirability" and "white charm" to hook in the audience.
Tiger is only 25% black. Seems a little silly for blacks to claim him Obama's daddy was black, but was raised by his white mother and family. Pretty much no African-American influence in his upbringing. There are legitimate reasons to say that neither is that black.
Taboo with who? I can't say I know a single person that thinks so. If anything, people just giggle at the brothers liking the white women. It's almost a stereotype like white guys with 'yellow fever.' I think you might be living in the past a little bit, jumping at shadows that just aren't there for the vast majority of people. You're as guilty as those you're railing against in making generalizations, you know. I've seen and read people trying to say that Obama's half white while everyone else screams 'no no no he's black.' Eventually folks just wind up throwing their hands in the air and say "Okay, fine: he's black. I give up." And then people come along and want to accuse people of only seeing the color that isn't white. Tiger, Obama....it's gotta end somewhere.

If Brad Pitt and Bill Clinton were black men and Tiger was full white, would the same thread have been made? Would people's view of the media coverage of Pitt's and Clinton's adultery be seen as racism for cheating on their wives with white women? Now switch their races back to white, notice how your view of the media coverage is not racist?
