    absolutely absurd.

they complain about low attendance, then pull these shenadigans.

    - hidden, inflated, "convenience" charges...

    - not selling tickets to fans because of "maximum allotment"...

    - horrible customer service, late or non delivery of tickets...

unless they're already sold out for most of the season, can anyone else besides us see the idiocy behind these policies???

No, you have only purchased 75% of the ticket. So you will have to leave the game after the 3rd quarter, escorted by a security guard.

Guys, parking at the summit was never free. Every ticket had a parking charge attached to it. You paid the parking fee regardless of whether you parked your car, got dropped off or walked over from work.

With the new arena, parking will be just like at Astros games. It should be great. Park close and pay alot or park a few blocks away and it shouldn't be more than $5 or even free if you can find a place on the street. The good news is that there should be no congestion when you leave (like from Astros games). The summit sucked to get out of.

Now, the other fees do suck but you can still probably buy tickets at the box-office and avoid those charges. It's not as convenient but it will save you a couple of bucks.

Yeah, but you know how much that fee was? About a buck. To park in a covered garage VERY close to the arena. Now the ticket price is either the same, or higher with NO parking fee. Meaning your paying the same price as at The Summit, but without parking included, so go ahead and tack on that $5-$20, I think most people will agree the parking at The Summit was a godsend.

$10 "Handling fee" sounds like a luxury tax....

Fan $10 over the luxury tax & have to watch John "man t***" Amaechi

    Rockets No luxury tax.

Le$ Hyena laughs all the way to the bank.......hehehehe

Jeff I respect you a lot and you did a lot for saving this team. However, this is not true in my opinion. I remember that we were voting on an arena to include a garage. I NEVER remember it being mentioned that it was supposed to be for only the fat cats in the suites and club level. That more than anything is appalling to me. I expected a charge to use the garage and that it would be for everyone or at least on a first come, first served basis; however, I never knew it was just for the rich SOBs.

I feel bad for you Jeff. You were lied to and were used by the corporate douchebags ruining this country. That there is a garage only for the rich, with their own fricking entrance is appalling considering it was paid for by OUR TAX DOLLARS.

I wanted to go see the team and the new arena. That will not happen now. I will watch it on TV instead.

Hey guys, where are the best sports bars in Houston to watch ROX games? I bet it'll be better off because your spendin a little less and enjoyin the ROX kick a$$ with a bar full of ROX fans. We clutchcitiers should all designate one sportsbar and call it ROX home. Hooters anyone? Where do yall enjoy your beers and wings at while watchin the ROX?

Please don't call Tim out. I think it's great that he posts here at all. At least it shows that someone in the organization is at least acknowledging the fans.

Little did we know that "BE BIG" was not a cheer, but a warning. A warning to prepare a certain bodily orifice.

Sorry for that mental image, but this thread ticks me off. I was definitely planning on at least one game this year from out of town. Now, I'm not so sure. I can afford these ridiculous fees once or twice, but I despise deception. Lower ticket prices? Sure, but you'll be paying more for your night out.

When Les starts paying like Cuban, I think we'd be more understanding of his need to squeeze as much cash as possible from all of us.

This is not the first ridiculous "convenience" fee I've seen in my life, won't be the last. Hidden charges are everywhere. Governments are the worst culprit. Come to think of it, are you getting taxed on the convenience charge?

Chin up, Jeff. Without you, we couldn't root for our team on TV. You done good.

This is a great idea. Could Jeff work a deal with a bar for Rocket nights? Where 1% of all sales go to Clutch City? Let's get organized. Never forget that this is Houston's team, not Les Alexander's.

I'd be down with this idea. The problem I forsee is that Houston is a VERY spread out city. Choosing a good location could be tricky...

seriously some form of protest or petition is in order. For the guys who get screwed in paying for shipping and yet still being charged for it even after being told to pick the tickets up at will call (that pisses me off royally  ), y'all need to inform the local consumer rights people on the TV like Marvin Zindler, 2 on your side, etc. and tell them of this situation.

The Rockets need to be publically humiliated in front of the entire city on TV for the crap they have pulled. George Postolos needs to get on the air and issue mea culpas to Rocketball and for us fans for having deal with this crap. I am still enraged with all of this.

This is no different from attending a game - the arena isn't a good location for people coming from Katy or Conroe. I would suggest some place inside the Loop though, to make it equal distance from everyone.

Whats up with the hostility here Georgie-Porgie? Lets not narrow everything down just only to Tim. We should consider ourselves lucky to have a person of Tim's status frequent this board.

Lets not forget the big picture here. Tim is an asset, not a plague.

Actually, it was publicized EVERYWHERE that it would be a 2500-space parking garage. Now, I'm no math expert, but even I can figure out that 2500 spaces won't hold 18,500 people unless every vehicle brings 8 people to the game.

As for the use of the garage for suite and club seat holders only, I did find this VERY disappointing and voiced my concerns through the fan council and my contacts with the Rockets.

Alright...I did a little investigating...and checked the convenience charges for three teams, all at about the same price level and all through Ticketmaster and compared that to the Rockets...lo and behold...look what I found...

Team Ticket Price Convenience Charge Lowest Shipping
    Grizzlies 11.00 2.50 2.50
    Spurs 9.00 4.35 1.75
    Knicks 10.00 3.00 1.75
    Rockets 10.00 4.00 3.50

What that means is we have to basically pay 17.50 for the cheapest seat in the house...whereas the cheapest Knicks tickets go for 14.75, Spurs are 15.10 and the Grizzlies are 16.00 (but that's for a $11 ticket, their lowest one is $5) All three of those prices came via Ticketmaster online....now, I thought the whole point of getting away from Ticketmaster was so that the ticketbuyers wouldn't have to pay outrageous fees. Well, not only do have to pay those said fees, we have to pay MORE than other teams with GOOD attendance rates. Not only that, but that 3.50 handling charge still applies even if you select Will Call. Ticketmaster, well they don't charge you anything for that. ZERO. So, I would just like to applaud the sales department and whoever is involved for doing a great job of treating your loyal fans fairly. BRAVO!
