Disregarding anything said about Ticketmaster. And just pointing out what you said about the prices of the tickets themselves. Artists these days don't make money from album sales. Most of the money they make is from touring.
I remember going to the ticket booth at Foley's to buy sports and concerts tickets. We picked our seats by comparing a printed seating chart to the tickets they had on hand. If you didn't see tickets that you wanted, you could try a different Foley's or the venue box office. Ah, the good old days.
Exactly. Having to pay a "fee" for an electronic transaction that nearly equals the price of the ticket itself is somewhere beyond absurd.
unfortunately ticketmaster is the fall guy, the artists performing these tours allow this to happen because they know the really good seats will sell really high so they go to the third market which is ticketmaster and stubhub. As a result, the artist can shift the blame to them for being greedy
Nope. Doesn't look like they're in a hurry either. Apparently these free ticket vouchers are only good for general admission tickets to Live Nation owned/operated venues and shows. So, you can probably expect the vouchers to only work on the crappiest of shows at the crappiest of venues. That means for Houston people... shows at House of Blues, Cynthia Woods, NRG, and Bayou Music Center (or whatever they call it now). I don't think they're going to apply the vouchers to currently scheduled shows. It seems like they will start applying them to shows as the shows get scheduled.
Not just that but they are first come first serve. They will reserve a certain amount of voucher redeemable tickets and you have to get them fast before they are taken up.
Yep. Those $2.50 vouchers are the biggest joke ever too. I'm guessing you can only use one per purchase. WHAT A DEAL!
Yeah, I have 12 free tickets and 6 $2.50 vouchers.... Can't wait to redeem them the next time these guys come to town! Spoiler
I went to Walmart a while back to use their ticketmaster kiosk thinking I could avoid some of the fees. Nope....they charged the exact same fees.
The Soup Dragons, Mr. Mister, Information Society, Paperboy, Skee-Lo, Alan Arkin, Toni Basil and Timex Social Club.
All of my free tickets are gone now and replaced with more discount codes......17 for $2.25 and 1 for $5.00. Yesterday I had 17 ticket vouchers for 2 tickets each.
Are your tickets still showing up rather than replaced this morning with more discount codes? Also, when I go to the list of events, nothing from Houston shows up.
