That is the WORST application of the " " sadness smiley I've EVER SEEN. EVER. You don't feel sad. Joto. Don't lie. OP, you were speeding. You just admitted it. If you would like to argue your case, and state why you broke the law and got caught (which I think will be a waste of time), go ahead. It never hurts to try. Please pay the lady at the door.
I thought I was clear that I was being aware of my situation. That's how I knew the car in the far left lane was entering the same lane I was already mostly in even though she did not use a blinker. I looked right at her face. I also knew that more than likely the guy who drove up behind me, more than likely already had started to move past me on the right side. Also I knew that my car was further up in the lane than the car trying to enter with me. So hitting the brakes would of meant needing to decelerate to a point that she would clear me. This I thought would of been the worst decision as even though I was more than clear of the car in the center lane, a deceleration of that magnitude would of possibly caused a serious problem behind me. Either way...I was hoping to see if anyone would know from first hand experience or through someone else if there was ever a situation where a judge might be willing to at least understand given these stipulations or something similar, might be willing to understand that I wasn't really speeding for speeding's sake, I was really only trying to avoid an accident.
The person whose alternate account I was sure this was trolling me specifically (because he knows I rage over this EXACT crap) claims it's not him, so okay honest advice in case your not really just pretending here & are driving around near me- ask for dismissal by taking defensive driving or deferred adjudication, but do not repeat in court any of the following thought processes you claimed to have here (all snipped individually): I know, all these rules seem so arbitrary & pointless- it seems like we should all be able to just kind of drive around however we want to, but you have to admit you find yourself not understanding where you went wrong, confused as to why you're being punished for making what you claim to think were all the right moves, so maybe something to them after all? I'm not real good about it all the time either, especially lately for no good reasons (right lane bad condition on a frequented highway & most don't know how to pass, so I get stuck there), but no excuses if that puts me in a bad position! Good luck in court.
