I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers lost in the first round. Like I said earlier in the thread, they can't be trusted in the playoffs. Griffin and CP3 are great players but neither have sniffed past the second round and Grizzlies or Warriors could take them out, especially the Grizzlies. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of their role players like big baby and Barnes imploding as well in the playoffs. Rox can't be trusted or expected to go far either with their shaky pg situation and young bigs. I'm glad that at least our two stars have significant playoff experience and success, that can be huge.

Playmaking PG's and tall athletic PF's are the Rockets' downfall for the forseeable future... We've never addressed this Post-Hakeem, outside of the Stromile Swift debacle..

The Griz have a chance but its highly unlikely they will get the 6th seed.

Warriors if they get hot are a threat for any team.

Thanks for all the responses. Very helpful in getting me to understand.

What do you propose the Rockets can do to counteract this come playoff time?
Or is a fix something that has to occur in the offseason.

During the play offs? Other than getting Dwight and possibly Beverley back, not much. And that likely STILL won't be enough. The Clippers were blowing us off the floor even when we had them.

Morey will need to multiple moves to make up for the weaknesses and/or add more scoring versatility, and it will be difficult to get all the pieces you need in a single off season.

Bev coming back in the playoffs and we play the twin towers against the Clip.

    OKC?

Harden and Lin did it last year, we'll just hope they'll do it again.

lol OKC and LAC have absolutely owned us this season. 0-7 as previously mentioned.

blowout losses, blown leads, and a NBA worst scoring disparity between two halves is all I remember about playing these two nightmare matchups this season.

Idk, but us not being able to win against them this season scares me.

It makes me feel like our team is currently too weak to make win it all, makes me feel like we need add another more key players.

I know some here won't like to hear it but we are among contenders but we are still the 4th best team and the most inconsistent team of the bunch.

We lack experience playing with each other, playoff experience altogether and we have injury concerns.

these two teams are obviously our worst match up. but they are not unbeatable, i just think the rockets need to scrap a lot harder against these teams. they play good defense on us all around, we miss our shots, we get demoralized and then dont come back to close out when the game gets tight. i think the biggest answer to these two teams is to play hard and play defense.

as far as players who are the weakest against these teams: dwight and lin

dwight cant score against good big defenders like deandre and ibaka etc.

lin is just inconsistent against these two teams, and has totally disappeared at times. not to mention hes matching up with CP3 and WB. in honesty WB gives lin a lot of trouble on defense. i think lin can handle CP3, ive seen him play CP3 pretty good. i dont think he can stop him though, but not many people in the NBA can stop CP3. not even bev.

both of these guys have the ability to make a big impact on the court, but these two teams shut these guys down. they have to scrap against these tough teams, and make it hard on them.

ive noticed Asik does pretty well against these two teams and would give him a lot more minutes. the guy just plays big against these teams, honestly dwight doesnt play as big as asik does.

They are being outcoached. In almost every game against those two teams the Rockets completely fall apart in the 4th quarter.
Still i think they could get 2 wins in a series against either, but nothing more.:(
