We are above average on the number of back to backs and about even on the number of opponent back to backs (see LINK). One thing that we do have however, is the most long breaks (9 of 3+ days). This is nice because it gives you some chances for some practice, but it also means that your days off are not as evenly distributed. One thing I did notice on the schedule is that Dallas really has it good this year. They have 19 games this year where their opponent is playing in Dallas on the second night of a back to back. I would assume that teams go to Houston or SA and then run up through Dallas for a little Texas swing. Interestingly, just a couple hours away the Thunder only have 5 games like that.
It'd be nice if the Rockets had 6 days off. That'd go along way cause I think they are a little warn out
Yeah, I noticed that yesterday when I was looking at OKC's upcoming schedule. At first I thought it was a mistake and one of their games was missing from the list. But it happens. The Rockets had several 4 days breaks back in December which was good given their injury situation at the time. It's gonna be tough to play OKC on the 3rd game in 4 nights coming off a 2-game roadie. But look at the flipside. 6 days off could leave the Thunder really rusty. Plus that break is gonna come back and bite them in the rear later on when they have to play a bunch of games in quick succession in order to make up for all that time off.
The NBA...it's fantastic <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/u4-RNTsgHLw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> ...the scheduling however is not.
The Warriors also don't have a tough stretch of games either, it's like at the most 2 hard teams out of 4 or 5. Maybe the NBA did that on purpose so their sweethearts can have a better chance of being the top seed, I dunno. Actually I think GSW did have a tougher stretch earlier in the season where they went like 2 - 2 or something and came down to earth a bit.
I can hear it now. If we lose, "Rockets can't beat a lottery team" will be the theme. If we win, it's because OKC's rusty after 6 days off. It's a lose-lose situation.
I do not know why folks fear the Thunder? I think there time to be a player as passed. Grant you they have KD but Westbrick is going to keep them down. I am not impressed with there bench.
We fear them because they've been a tough matchup for us. Now the Rockets can beat them. We're not talking the Clippers who we literally cannot get a win against for whatever reason. But generally, it seems like we lose 3 out of 4 games to the Thunder on an annual basis.
Yep...went to Rockets game in OKC last year where we had played 4 games in 5 nights. That's ridiculous.
I have and he has looked good but he still falls into bad play sydrome and I look at that record of OKC so his play has not made the team better.
Good for them. Personally, I hope this ends up stacking the deck in favor of a 1/2 GS/Portland finish in the west. Then, we will finally see both the 7 and 8 seed upset the 1 and 2 seeds. In the west, seeding means nothing. You just gotta make the final cut at the end. This game does not affect that final cut for us.
I'm pretty sure every time Dallas faces us this season, it's the second night of a back to back. So stop with the complaining.
