OK - I liked them at first but after tonight (with that ugly orange court) ... can I change my vote - lets end this "throw-back" before I throw up
These throwbacks bite. There ain't nothing good about them. I'm all for throwbacks in general, but not these. Either go with the ones from the championship years or go way old school...the gold and green of the San Diego Rockets. Just get rid of these nasty looking ones...they look like McDonald's jerseys.
I agree that the championship unis from the Dream era should be our throwbacks because they didn't have too much yellow in them and they'd be inspirational to the current players to wear the uniforms of the back to back World Champions. Current throwbacks are hideous as are most teams and the current unis are the best they've evey had because of the uniqueness of the design (stripes), the shiny red is awesome looking and the only thing they should change with the current road reds is the ugly black socks and shoes which look horrible and they should go back to wearing white socks and shoes on the road and at home or at least white socks on the road. The all black with the red road unis is a throwback to the Jordan era with the Bulls and the champion Rockets always wore white socks/shoes on the road. Keep that tradition going even with the new unis which I love.
Exactly, thats how you build a recognition about a franchise. Stick to some unflashy, serious and classic stuff. Stuff you like to wear even when you passed your 30's. I would never wear this new unis, but the old ones (not the pajamas of course ) I would wear always.
I think it's perfect as it is. I love the new jerseys, but it's cool to have the old ones in there a few times a season.
I'm not a fan of the throw backs they are using. The ones from the 80's and 90's were awesome and I would love for the Rockets to go back to them but not the ones they are using now, they are terrible.
Speaking of throwbacks have the Nuggets been playing in their 80's unis? You know the one with the Atari skyline. Also what about the Suns faux retro orange unis? I've been thinking the Rox should play in Astro's throwbacks since those seem to be pretty hot now.
They did the 80's throwback last year, so it was time for the 70s. Now, I wonder, will we ever see the San Diego throwbacks? I mean, the Lakers wore the Minneapolis throwbacks. Seeing the Rockets in green would be surreal.
