You know what has turned me off to the nba?

Its rigged-to a certain extent. Nothing new.

Although i think the nba allows players to shine at times, and thats what keeps me interested.

apart from my love of the rockets

This is the fourth point I forgot to mention. Thanks for pointing it out.

In the evenly matched finals, the championship can be easily decided by a few critical whistles.

I am still not convinced the heats were the real champion. 2 or 3 whistles totally swung the momentum and blew that series up.

There is no absolute winner anymore, the game is not enjoyable unless you are a fan of that particular team.

I think other reasons to lose interest in the NBA are:

    1. the development of these stupid super teams & players commanding their teams where to trade them.
    2. an overall weakness in general - the refs have too much impact on the game. Refereeing is too judgmental, and you end up with huge free throw disparities. Compare that to golf (which actually bores me) - no regular referee interference.
    3. another weakness in the game - free throws stop the flow of the game too much

I still enjoy it a ton, don't get me wrong, but i don't think bball is perfect.

1 is basically what I am talking about, egocentric culture and thuggish display.

Oh, there are too many commercials breaking the game.

It was a five game series hahahahaha. We are talking a three game swing by 3 whistles? Come on...

I've lost interest in the NBA but not for the stupid reasons you listed. Tattoos are a sign of trashy culture? How? Just because in your mind you perceive it doesn't make it true. Kevin Durant is one of the classiest people around. The NBA is mostly lame now because players are soft and all want to play on the same team when back in the 90's, players wanted to compete.

P.S. Melo is fat, there is no way he is on steroids. It's evolution. Even little kids are bigger than they were 20 years ago.

They eat more junk foods and cheap stuff with more growth factors. Americans are becoming poorer and poorer and they can't afford healthy fine food anymore.

Whenever I watch TV or cruise through the streets, I see piles and piles of meats. You call it bigger, I call it obesity. It's just sad.

I think you guys are taking the tattoo thing out of context. Tattoos are awesome and i like them, they have deep meaning and portray thought. But what ruins there image is that the highly number of people who do have them act like douchbags/thugs ect..
I don't think op is saying all who have them are like that just the ones who draw a lot of attention to themselves (JR.Kmart.Birdman)

Im not a racist.. im actually black

and if you ask me if i prefer to see Russell Westbrook and James Harden wearing goofy glasses compared to gold teeth and chain, i will take that everyday of the week

the old NBA post jordan- 2005 was horrible to watch

Lebron even though he has tats( which im sure he regrets).. is not a bad guy at all, even though i hate his guts

you still have the J.R. Smith and Monta Ellis off the world, but they are not in nightclubs like NFL Players shooting it up or making it rain

NBA Players have evolved, you guys just dont see it

Kenyon Martin is another who would help the game by retiring

look this past draft, i dont see a potential thug anywhere in that draft. MKG, Anthony Davis, Jared Sullinger, Jeremy Lamb, are all quality guys

the 1 year of college rule needs to be extended to 2 years in my opinion. IT HAS HELPED

I approached several people with tattos, guys and gals alike, pretending I like their things on their arms, and asked them what those symbols mean. Most of times they just shook their head.

They have garbage on their body and they don't even know it. LOL.

To put it simply, the way basketball players carry themselves on and off the court. I've been watching a lot of old school basketball specifically during the Jordan era and I respect guys like Shawn Kemp, Dennis Rodman, Chris Mullin, Charles Barkley even more now. Even listening to Jordan's interview you can see the level of professionalism he carried and I feel some guys in the NBA lack that.

Also its obvious the league got softer but I think many players lack the killer instinct that drove guys like Allen Iverson, Micheal Jordan, Shawn Kemp, Kevin Garnett, and hell Ill even put Steve Francis there, etc. IDK it was just fun to watch players play with passion and battle and trash talk, but I guess you can't really blame the league for enforcing the rules and cleaning up the NBA.

I also dont have or want any piercings or tats, but to stop watching a sport because of it, is foolish

Do you know how many other countries would kill to watch local NBA games for free, or too be able to watch the best players in the world every night, instead of having to wake up every 5 o'clock in the morning

NBA Players have us so spoiled

Having a tattoo makes you trashy, ghetto and low class now? Melo on steroids? Hell Wade and Lebron on steroids? Your claims are completely baseless and the fact that you included Melo is laughable at best when he isn't even muscular and a player that relies on athleticism. There are more athletic and muscular players then Wade I have no clue why you included him. I doubt Lebron is on roids either.

Seriously how close-minded and stupid can you get?
