I agree. Get rid of it. If they have to have some sort of visible signature sign, it should be new and unique to them. I would much rather that they don't do that at all though. We lost to Dallas in those days, and I would rather just focus on the game.
that was the first thing that came to mind. we really don't have a wbss. they changed it to super squad. anyhoo. I like it.
Let the players decide if they would like to celebrate. This is stupid and very similar to the nickname threads. I'm all about talking about those things, but get real, clutchfans.net does not decide what gets done. This is not a democracy. The announcers and players will have the final decision and it will probably be a spur of the moment thing. That being said, BRING IT BACK SCOTTY THE BODY!!, you are the only one left. Bring it back when Jon Barry is doing one of our games for ESPN and pass that joint to him. But it's not a joint. It's something else. But pass that sweet cheeba anyway.
If they did the shocker for every three they would be the most popular nba team in the league the novak jersey would be the most popular in the world they could call him Steve "The Shocker" Novak
Haha, I vote for "The Shocker" -- too bad it will never catch on! I hated the old hand signal, though.
I thought the hand gesture was the pinky middle and ring finger extended with the index finger, and thumb making the okay sign.
I thought the gesture was so funny. My friends and I loved it and we used it on the court quite a bit for a while. Does anyone have the picture of Sura doing it? Post it please!
Can't agree more. I thought the gesture was overdone even when we were up 2-0. It just went hand-in-hand with being cocky, and look where it got us. Miami won the Championship last year and didn't have any gesture, nor did Detroit and San Antonio before that.
Speaking of crappy gestures.. what is up with Stromile's lame gesture after he does a Nasty dunk (which is his 2 ppg anyways)? THAT was annoying. Speaking of which, if doing gestures is classless and stupid.. maybe we can do what LBJ and his cavs do. They just high five eachother in funny ways and do a lil jig after it. I still vote for a hand gesture.. just a nice simple one.. like a 2 thumbs up.. maybe? or why not a peace sign? this world can sure use more peace signs.
.... this is lame Play your game well first, earn peoples respect, then gesture back will be less offensive to other players and more popular
Yes, Michael Jordan's fist pump was cocky and so was Sam Cassell's two-fist wrist-slide-together thing and Shaq running down court with the low steps and they were all dumb, but it's part of the legacy. It's a celebration and made the team feel like a unit. What's the problem? Bringing it back? I don't know, only Padgett and Tracy would be left and I don't know that they ever displayed the gesture.
