I never said the US base wasn't a deterrent. I just said it's a wasted deterrent. It's like buying a store warranty that last as long as the manufacturer's warranty. Sure, it helps. But that doesn't mean it's not a waste of money. And to compare N. Korea with Hitler is just beyond WTF. Are you saying that they'll start a Communist Korean Empire by destroying China, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, and SE Asia if we don't keep a base there?
Good morning, glynch. The only reason that Nazi Germany is relevant to this debate is in relying on defections from a totalitarian regime. Within the military, it just doesn't happen that much.
No...that was a direct reply to glynch relying on North Korean soldiers defecting in droves from a tyrannical ruler. The Soviets and the Nazis did not have a large defection rate, so there is no reason to believe that the North Koreans will either.
