It's very rare that the government at any level spends its tax revenues efficiently, or delivers the result that said tax(es) is (are) supposed to bring. Someone else here noted all the governments "wars on [fill in the blank.]"

This is where the govt sells us a bill of goods (or a Brooklyn bridge, if you like). The desired goal isn't the end of -whatever-. It's the creation of a bureaucracy, a dependent class, and more govt revenues.

I'm a pragmatist first and foremost. Wasting time tilting at Windmills just doesn't interest me. However....that doesn't mean I'm "rolling over".

My efforts are in support of the "Convention of States" movement. So far 14 states (including 2 this year already) have ratified for an Article V Convention of States in an effort to Amend the Constitution of the United States. Eight more states have passed the COS resolution in 1 chamber while 12 others have active legislation pending in 2019.

Question is a little bit redundant as you can't have 1k per month UBI without a major tax increase on the wealthy.

You can have a tax increase without UBI, and the question would then be - what would you spend the tax money on instead of a UBI? So a better question would be -

Single payer health care, tuition-free public universities, 15 per hour minimum wage, universal childcare

    Or

    1k per month UBI

That being said, I'm sure you could have one or two of those other options alongside UBI.
