I like the Wii, but its nothing special. I use it mostly for playing retro games. Wii Sports is pretty boring to me. I only find the golf to be somewhat realistic. Wii Fit is good. New Super Mario Bros is awesome. My wife loves to play Wii, but she also loves to play Halo!
When I used to live with a couple roommates, we used to wii it up a few times a week (we were addicted to mario kart and tennis). Once I moved, I've stopped playing, and stick to my PS3. The main reason: what others have mentioned above, not enough good games. But the great thing about the wii is, the best games for it easily compare with the best games of the PS3. For ex, Super Mario Galaxy's game play more than makes up for it not being HD, and on a funness level, is up there with Uncharted 2 imo. I just bought Galaxy 2 on Amazon today (along with Red Dead Redemption for PS3) and will truly have a hard time choosing which one to play first! In the end, I'd say get the wii if you can afford it, got someone to play with, and you can live with playing games not in HD.
We bought a Wii when all the Guitar Hero stuff came out. It's a lot of fun to have people over, get drunk and play GH World Tour, but other than that, we hardly ever play it. Fun at parties, gets boring on your own. I heard that you can play Gamecube games on the Wii? Do they even make Gamecube games anymore?
actually, the wii is the system my friends and i break out most often when we feel like gaming. were all pretty avid gamers, and we have ps3s and 360s, but we always go back to the wii if were hanging out in person. i think its because its usually less cutthroat, and a lot more fun to watch, even if you're not playing. the genius of the wii is that it more or less levels the playing field between serious and casual gamers, yet everyone still has fun playing. plus wii fit is a handy for convincing certain female friends to get into questionable yoga poses. oh, and i agree. lack of HD stinks.
I have my Wii modded, but I only really fire it up when good games come out like Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Do you all notice a difference using COMPONENT (Red, Blue, Green) cables over the red, white, yellow composite ones?
never bought the component but there are some comparison pictures online. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...s=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&tbs=isch:1
I've always thought the Wii was an inferior system...graphics, speed, gameplay, obviously PS3 and Xbox 360 are better...and it has no f'n HD... HOwever, the kids, especially my girls would rather play Wii than the PS3...same goes with women and older folks like my parents...I bought one, but I got it new for like $150 last year, so I got suckered into it...actually it's been played once at my house when the kids were here last xmas...they better play it this summer...
you must spread some reputation around... yes they are bigger. Unforuntaley it doesnt always work p.s. no need to be sorry for no pic of oden.
