If Texas Runs the table. . . how far up the polls will they get? Do they have a shot at the championship . . luckily this happens early in the season . . . or sorts. Depends on who loses (obviously) and, more importantly, the order of the losses. For example, if ND/Georgia/OSU lose and we move up to #5, then OU loses, we can jump them. However, if OU loses next week, they probably remain ahead of us. As for a championship, it'll be tough. We have a tougher schedule than OU (I actually think both OU and UT will lose this coming week). But if both of us go 11-1, and end around #2 or #3, OU has a huge advantage in the BCS Bonus Points. I don't see us making the championship game unless (1) we improve massively very quickly and (2) we get very lucky with lots of teams losing in the right order.
Incredible. Absolutely incredible. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/sports/fb/fbc/1616076 This innocent piece starts off with the following... The bad news for Texas -- well, besides the fact that if he could do it all over again, coach Mack Brown says he would do nothing differently strategy- or coaching-wise despite his team's 35-24 loss to Oklahoma -- is it finds itself having to bounce back from another difficult defeat in Dallas. I wonder if he will EVER learn.
I'd like to throw myself into the objective UT fans category also. (It's ok Kid Rock, I know you can't remember everyone, but I figure you knew anyway) I think Greg Davis is getting unfairly bashed in a way. I think he is part of the problem but Major put up some big numbers in big games under Davis. The fact is, is that Chris Simms is not good at playing quarterback. I don't hate Simms at all, he is a hell of a human being, but he is an ineffective quarterback. (I cut and pasted the rest from the "UT sucks" thread that I do not think anyone read after I posted, hey it took me a long time to think this up) Simms has a gun and nothing else. He is not accurate enough on the deep ball, he cannot scramble or throw on the run, his release is too slow, and for a 6'5 guy, his passes get tipped by the opposing d-line all the time. I'm glad UT does not have to put up with this crap next year. In the thread link below, I said Nate Hybl was a piece of crap. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41353 Well, I was right. He did his best to give UT the game with his 4 INTs. I would have never thought OU would beat Texas with Nate Hybl throwing 4 INTs (but that show how bad the offense is when Chris Simms is under center) I also said Simms can not get it done. I was right there also, and yet some here and on hornfans continue to disagree with me. You'd think they would be smarter than that. OU's offense scored 35 meaningful points, whereas UT's offense scored just 10 meaningful points. End of Story. Chance Mock or VY never looked more appealing.
