If Wilson is a game manager then certainly Montana was a game manager throughout his early career. Rodgers wasn't a big risk taker in his first season starting... Second why through the ball to an average receiving core when your running game is strong and your defense is monstrous Carroll played it close to the vest, thats not Wilson's fault
Also, if you think BS like this is the sign of a good QB then why aren't you a Manziel fan? He did BS like that all the time. Then again, if fluky broken play BS is what impresses you, it explains why you like Bridgewater.
The Difference: Manziel runs around because that is the staple of his game Bridgewater like Wilson only runs around when it is absolutely necessary and a play HAS to be made. When Manziel runs it is the result of missed reads and feeling phantom pressure (no pocket presence). When wilson and bridgewater run its because there is no other choice due to secondary coverage or actual pressure in the backfield
So overall you like the fluky broken play BS though? Fair enough. Anyway, we've talked enough about Teddy Bridgewater, in a few years we'll look back and laugh that we wasted so much time discussing someone so irrelevant to the NFL and to the Texans. It'll be like looking back on conversations about Stephen Hill.
Never said that but oh well. I will have this page bookmarked so I can laugh and point while you emphatically twist in the wind claiming to have liked Bridgewater all the while.
Go for it. The day he's the next coming of Joe Montana or Aaron Rodgers you can tell the whole world "I told you so". Of course, when that doesn't happen don't try to pretend like you weren't ate up with the hype.
Preferably he will be a Montana/Rodgers for us. There isn't hype. Just facts. If I am wrong, I will certainly admit it. However it likely won't be the case. Bridgewater put a great impression on Parcells. Has a great aptitude for the game and the competitive desire to be the best at his craft. All greats are born of those characteristics
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...wner-louisville-quarterback-article-1.1715288 “He’s a really good kid,” Parcells said. “I was highly impressed with him as a person. I enjoyed talking to him. As a person, I think he’s first class. He asked me a lot of questions.” When you put an impression like that on Tuna, that oozes "It"
I highly doubt it. He's been oversold by a bunch of QB desperate Texans fans who see him as the savior and have artificially inflated his value. He MIGHT be the best QB in this class, but he's not a difference maker and not worth a top 10 pick.
Thats fair Montana was a second rounder Brees was a second rounder A-Rod was a mid to late 1st rounder Wilson was in the 3rd All of these quys weren't difference makers and in all honesty were just cogs in the wheel. Any qb could have replaced them.
You really are embarrassing yourself by comparing Montana, Brees, and Rodgers to Wilson and then comparing all 4 to Bridgewater. I'm trying to help you, but you have to decide to stop on your own. Bridgewater seems to have become this year's Jon Major, a draft crush that gets hyped up to laughable levels in the pre draft months. You are going to be very upset in a few months.
Mallett would make a lot of sense. Much less risk than drafting one of the college guys. Remember, BO'B values intelligence above all else. Mallett's got it. The college guys? More unknown...
Everyone of those guys got the same bad mouthing from people such as yourself when they were coming into the draft. They were either 1. Too skinny 2. Too short 3. Arm wasn't strong enough (and Bridgewater has a good to great arm strength) 4. All of them were deemed to be average/decent prospects with an average ceiling
Something we agree on Ryan Mallet has not struck me as intelligent throughout his decision making process at Arkansas
