actually if we have cap space, we wouldn't even need an expiring if I'm not mistaken. So just rookies and/or vets.

I think Miami would be good enough without Bosh. Move LeBron to the 4, move Allen to the 3 and voila. Allen may be old but eff it, Kareem and Robert Parish both played 20+ seasons each, right?

yeah, i think bosh who has been the third wheel..on AND OFF the court will be the first one to go.

i think between the 3, bosh is the only one who sitll has to prove himself individually.

he will be gone. and i'll def take him here in houston.

Nice thread. Yeah interesting to see how this plays out.

On a lighter note: LOL, let's not front. Everybody here is talking with so much entitlement. Since when did Houston fans become "oh so elite". Damn right you will "take" him, he's CB.

of course we would take bosh, i would take him over love given his constant injuries. i like love more, but his injuries put a big question mark next to his name in terms of his longevity for this team. you dont pass up on a guy like bosh, who looks to have some seasons left in him. DM really pushed for bosh, but there was just nothing here for bosh. now this team has a legitimate core which will be appealing for big money players. for now we should keep our eyes on the PF's we have now, i will enjoy watching them grow for the time being.

The Rockets need a power forward who can space the floor, post up, and play defense.

While I really like Trob with his unique athleticism and rebounding/defense potential. It would be hard to say no to Chris Bosh. I honestly think if Trob can improve his mid range game he's the perfect compliment to harden. Our defense woul be a nightmare with asik and Robinson down low.

With that's said I also remember how good Bosh was playing when wade was hurt last yr. he was putting up like 28 and 12 with good defense. Him and harden would be IMO the best big man little man combo in the game. Not to mention his game fits our system like a glove. I would get rid of everyone for him outside of harden obviously and would try to keep asik and parsons but would trade them if need be.

If we could some how have a starting lineup of

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Bosh
    Asik

That's a title contender ad possibly the best team out west. I would love to get Bosh but just don't see Miami giving him up. With lebron on your team you can afford to go over the cap he's just too good to mess things up over some money IMO.

I really hope the rockets just stand pat and develop Trob and dmo. I'd rather do that than sign smith or millsap. Dmo is going to be a nice player and Trob has 2 way superstar potential. I just like the idea of having asik Robinson with dmo as the 3rd big. You could close games out with dmo at center and Trob a pf so much offense and rebounding and defense covered by Trob hiding dmos shortcoming.

3 max's can be done, 3 effective supermaxes with previous cba increments, not so much, and that's what miami has.

Let's say random act of God left us with Dwight, Love and Harden, that's combined $47m, Miami? $61.5m, and the gap just extends year after year.

To be honest, if push comes to shove. I'd put the responsibilities on CB's shoulders before Harden come playoff time. Harden will get calls all the way through the playoffs but will dud out in the Finals with the foul calls. He was non-existent in the OKC-Miami Finals. Harden's game is too dependent on ref's calls/ 3 pt shots. Both high risk propositions. If you take those weapons away from him, he's an above average player but not great.

Great players are not dependent on one thing or two things. ie: Kobe/ Durant/ LB/ Chris Paul.

Not hating on our main man, but you guys have to realize that his "effective play" is highly dependent on things we can't control (but others can). Remember that long shooting drought Harden was on? During that stretch, he wasn't getting any calls. That's what it will look like in the Finals, if his 3's are hitting.

So they are the defending champs, and are currently on a 25 game winning streak looking like they're cruising to title #2. Why on earth would they break this up?

They'll cut salaries elsewhere, which is why Pat Riley is watching all these college games. They're going to keep surrounding them with cheap young talent - and when you put young hardowrkers next to Wade/Bosh/LBJ some of them will eventually shine.

No way he's traded. Unless he asks to be traded, he's staying in Miami IMO. I'm not sure he'd be worth what we'd have to offer. I think we have as good a chance at landing Howard. I don't know that Howard is willing to tolerate another season with Kobe.

Lets take a look at the Heat. 2014 Wade will be 32 Bosh 30 and James 29 years of age. Now lets take a look at the Free Agency 2013. Bynum is off the board and Howard might stay with the Lakers. So our GM might keep the cap space for Free Agency 2014. So if Bosh opts out i would say dont pull the trigger. But what if James opts out 2014??? The Heat and Lakers have no youth. If players like T-Rob, Dmo or Lin develop and we make the playoffs twice till 2014 then James might consider the Rockets. Anything is possible with Daryl Morey.

Miami trapped Harden in a way he'd never seen before and was completely unprepared for, he didn't really know what to do at the time, and it showed. He even struggled against it earlier this season, but has improved markedly

Dallas trapped Lebron in a way he wasn't used to in '11, and he did **** all, doesn't work any more though, sometimes players just need to learn to adjust.

Btw during his shooting drought, he averaged 23-7-7, terrible i know.

If you consider the 2004, 2007 and 2011 finals, it's almost to the point of absurdity to cite that Harden's 2012 finals are a sign that he can't perform whereas those others can (and ps he was less experienced than either of the two players involved, and significantly moreso in regards to 04 and 11).

    Averaging 13/8/1.8 with a 21.48 PER.....hardly a bust.

    - "Miami Heat owner lost $460 million (so far) on Italian cruise ship disaster"

    http://offthebench.nbcsports.com/20...llion-so-far-on-italian-cruise-ship-disaster/

    - His net worth is $4.5B.

    - he has stated before that
    - In the 2014-2015 season, it'll cost more than $60 million to keep the big 3 together.

Quite an expensive hobby he's got there! I can't see why he'd willingly take an annual loss of tens of millions year after year, no matter how rich he is. Winning championships raises annual revenues by a quarter, so dropping Bosh might even put him in the plus if Lebron/Wade can still win 'ships. Get it? Carnival cruise? shutup.

This is a good point, his injuries make me a little nervous too. It's hard though, because I think there might be a chance to snag him at the right time, he's 4 years younger, and his max is 6 million less than Bosh.

Maybe Bima can educate us on this. The ESPN article suggests that after the 2013-14 season, it'll be even more extraordinarily hard for Miami to sign vets on minimum deals with all three supermax players. They've been able to so far, but soon it'll be near impossible for them to maneuver. Is that right?

Any questioning Bosh's ability needs to look back last year when he was injured during the playoffs. Without Bosh, the Celtics gave the Heat more than they could handle.
