and damn the bogut thought is great. it's amazing how he was viewed as a bust of a pick for a little while there...but i would love him on my team

How in the world does this thread have 4 stars? If this thread was started by DaDakota it would have one star and everyone would be ripping the guy for posting some inane rant.

    Just my opinion.

You don't know anything .. Stop kissing Doc Rocket behind for no reason . Everyone knew Houston was going to pick YAO ... Doc Rocket is not an insider ( although he pretends to be) .

Great to hear from Doc again.

I agree with so much of what you said. You are spot on with the AB situation.

And all that talk about Bogut got me excited, we can only wish something like this were to happen...

Great to hear from you though.

I've said the same thing recently about Bogut, but it would worry me a bit, him not using his right hand to shoot much. I had no idea until I watched him against the Rockets.

Will Bogut ever be the same player? He's putting up ok numbers but doesn't seem to be consistent.

I got no problem with the good Doc. And I might well be the only atheist Rocket fan, but trust me - prayer ALWAYs fails.

Revisionist history. Many were saying we were going to trade the pick for Lamar Odom. Remember Steve being quoted that if he, Cat and Odom were running the break, it would be over. Pops' intel was incorrect, too, but Doc nailed it.

I'm not sure I'm that high on Ish, but I do agree there is a difference in that area when he's on the floor. Not the same thing, but we were talking about this yesterday -- where the hell is the excitement? Where is this stuff we saw in the preseason? (Ish was playing then)

    Interesting stuff.

I mean, I don't really see anything profound or groundbreaking here. Just some spot-on analysis and venting.

The only "hint" to possibly read into is the comment about Shane needing to find a realtor since there's a 50% chance that could mean we're looking to deal him (and a 50% chance we simply let him walk after the season).

Right now I am not buying into Doc's post having something "cryptic" in it, but I do buy into it in that it is a post that probably is filled with sentiments of people in the organization whether its front office or amongst the coaching staff (wherever Doc's connections to the team are)

That being said I do agree with a lot of what was said. I am not sold 100% on Ish Smith the guy has tremendous talent as a point guard but he needs to improve on his shot and defense but his vision is probably better than any other point guard on this team right now. During the summer league he was making passes that were either a second too late or teammates were not expecting it. After the rest of the summer and camp and being able to spend some time with the guys and get on the same page he was able to produce like the highlights above Clutch posted. Right now though the guy plays too fast last time I saw him play I remember him just trying to force the issue at times and not letting the game come to him. Ended up in careless turnovers. This will come with experience, but without improving the other facets of his game it will be hard to win a lot of games achieve team success with a PG that is good at just one thing. Ish needs to improve his overall game and he'll have a spot in the NBA, I do think weaning him in as a backup PG behind Lowry after the all-star break would be a good thing for him and his development.

Totally agree on getting a legit 7 footer who can play defense. Brad has never been a defender I mean the situation the team is in right now without having anyone in the middle I am not surprised that they haven't tried to talk to Dikembe to come out of retirement. Dalembert would have been a move to look at if this team was fighting for a playoff spot as it is right now he would probably be a quick rental and I am not sure if the team will want to dump major money on a guy like him long term. Nene would be the guy I would want personally, not as good of a shotblocker as Dalembert but so much more polished offensively and can hold his end defensively as well.

It is nice to see Doc Rocket posting again though, stop sitting on the ledge so much and post a little more :)

One guy usually has some crumbs of truth regarding what is actually going on within the organization. The other one is basically a troll with an inflated cyber-ego and a shockingly unrealistic idea of his own intelligence.

While I agree the post itself didn't bring much substance it's still nice to have a true Rockets insider drop his thoughts on us from time to time.

I think Doc Rocket himself once said that he was no longer a true insider, although he still had some indirect connections.

I look forward to the day when all posters buy into a "higher standard" of responses. Is it really necessary to question other posters, whether they are insiders or not? Is it really necessary to insult other posters like DaDakota? Seriously, part of the cyber sports fan game is that we are all experts. And we are all mysterious. No telling who we are in "real" life. Maybe Les is on the board. Maybe Morey is on the board. Maybe Adelman is on the board and some or all of the players. Who knows?! That's the fun of it. Play the game without insults, put downs, or name calling. It is so much better when we are courteous.
