Fred VanVleet 4/19 - He took the most shots why?
    Amen Thompson 4/9
    Dillon Brooks 3/9
    Tari Eason 3/10

Amen Thompson 4/9 Supposed to be the Best Player, Ime doesn't make Amen Thompson the First Option that is a Coaching Problem, not running more plays for him in Iso or Post up Amen on Podz or Curry.

To answer the OP's question about what happened:

Biggest problem: Jalen Green has poor shooting form. Mechanically, his is very unsound -- body parts moving in inefficient directions, forces being created that cannot be replicated. This leads to inconsistent shooting and always will until he fixes his shooting form.

Second problem: Jalen green is a great athlete and thrives in space. In the playoffs and in big games, defenses tighten up and the game becomes more of a half court game. Lanes get clogged and space dries up. Slashing and making it on pure athleticism doesn't work as well in the playoffs.

The problem with the original statement isn't that it's wrong. The problem is what it implies. Like, as if Jalen's lay ups or dunks count more than the others and they should create room for him to score his more valuable twos.

That's the thing with the JOFs. They cant seem to wrap their minds around the idea that the chips sorta fell where they did and Sengun/Amen have shown more progress and are the ones that the team has to cater to and build around. Instead they have this false belief (like Silas did with KPj) that if you re-structure everything around him, he'll turn into Anthony Edwards.

To simplify the response, instead of giving a biomechanics and physics lecture, I would say this: Jalen Green's elbow is not underneath the ball when he shoots. It's off to the side. The elbow joint is the primary fulcrum in the shot -- it needs to apply forces in straight lines (mainly vertical - but definitely not sideways). To create consistency and repeatability, a basketball player's shot needs to be efficient with limited wasted energy or off-target forces. Green's shot does not fit this description.
