So before all the birther nonsense of his presidential election, this "fact checker" just messed up and randomly assigned Kenya as his birthplace without anyone giving that to her? It then just happens that years later Kenya becomes the focal point of the birther conspiracy? That seems unlikely. I don't believe he was born in Kenya obviously, but I think there might be some truth to him being in a weird identification period at one point is life where he tried to embrace a different heritage.
