Whatever, I mean, discuss it if you want, but I've seen way crazier people on teh interwebs and this kind of thing doesn't even come close to their magnitude. I don't even have time to discuss it here, really, but suffice to say I know exactly what you mean, except way better than you, with way more specific examples that I don't have time to share.
No, they're broadening the scope of discourse and challenging the plurality to more thoroughly articulate and defend their perspective.
I didn't say anything that complicated, especially for an argument in a debate. There are libraries and bookstores in every town in this country, and everyone gets twelve years of literature before graduating. That means everyone can understand you, so there are no excuses to not speak as eloquently as your thoughts and reasoning would allow.
The sad thing is that you didn't. I'm sure/hope the responder understood just fine but felt some reflexive need to dumb things down or question why it wasn't.
I'm actually guilty of this. I never fib about it though. Every time I (unintentionally) one up someone the stories are honest at least. I think it has more to do that when we read something like "its cold down in here!" our minds automatically click and search for anything in our memory that relates to that topic. Maybe some people intend to be braggy and do it purposely, but you can't blame us for saying something that so closely relates to the original topic.
I wish I knew which sports talk radio guy this was the other day- after a caller accused him of supporting mcnair's racist hiring practices, he got pretty worked up in his response & let a "you people" slip, then immediately paused & started that sentence over.
I hate the "I hate drama" people. You know those people are the worst and are involved in the most drama.
