As much as I respect JVG's defense effectiveness, Adelman's underlying offensive philosophy is designed more to utilize the offensive strengths of all 5 players on the court.

Given skilled players and a fair amount of chemistry/familiarity, I think Adelman's offense will always be greater than JVG's.

Francis looks to be out of the rotation, Bonzi is a fat ballhog, and JVG tried to get James back last year but the front office wouldn't go for it. JVG with this years team less Fancy and Bouncy Whales is still championship caliber. Hell, JVG with last years team but everyone staying healthy is probably championship caliber.

but I did like JVG, and I didn't mind the slower defensive games,
and no question, with Scola and James added to JVG's club we would have gotten past Utah.

Additional detail. By adding RA its like we also got Bonzi who looks to be promising this year. Also TMac seems happier, and definitely Bullard and Clyde are happier too (have you noticed their compliments of RA always sound like diggs at JVG?)

Its not just your opinion, its evident: JVG would love Scola.

 

Last year although we were at 52-30, our record against west playoff teams are something like 4-16. I would hope this will change this year under RA. But as far as I can see right now, SA is still a better team than us. I think this year is the year they might to do it. But Rockets will defintely be in the western conference finals. If the playoff starts right now, we will lose for sure. But it's not set in the stone yet, we might be able to get some extra help, SF3 may able to contribute, who knows.

So I think RA will do better in the playoffs than JVG, but I am not sure about winning championship this year.
