The Rox won 34 games last season! Would you be happy if next season we won 44 games? If the Rockets are going to be able to contend in three seasons they must be able to win 55 games this next season. To do this will mean at least three more additions to the team, agile players that can score when given the open shot.
You completely missed some very key elements of his post. Read it again and if you still don't where you went wrong, let me know and I'll point it out to you.
There is no reason that we cant be title contenders next season. All that we really need is a starting 2, a backup 1, and a healthy TMac/Yao. I think that we can fill both of those holes via the draft. Selecting Carney and Diaz or Rondo if one were to slip a bit would seem to fill our backcourt for the near future. We are going to have to wait to upgrade the 4 position, but we could probably use the exceptions to land a decent 4/5 to give us some depth there. Alston/Diaz Carney/Head TMac/Bowen Howard/Swift Yao/Deke
I'm really disappointed. It took until the 17th post to make a joke about the "Missing Link" with still no joke in site relating to links on the net and exactly zero pictures of the sasquatch or some fat hairy guy relating to the title of the thread. You guys are slipping.

This actually is rather funny. We are in a position to draft a possible impact player. We were a team rattling off wins when both our best players were healthy. We are a team with T-mac that can really match up with anyone play big, play small, play fast or slow. Are we going to win a title next year? No because I do not think you can go from not being in the playoff's to winning it without everything else being in place. We have holes and we do not have the bench I think we really need for a title. But we are getting closer. We need more fire in my opinion. Someone who takes losing personally and can really drive it home, besides JVG. So look for 50+ wins. I believe the heart of a champion still beats in ClutchCity.
I thought about it yesterday but figured somebody else wouild pick up the slack. I was leaning towards the green painted wrestler too, btw
I asked CHRONZ a question based upon his statement, he has not answered me. Regarding your statement to which he was replying I total disagree with you about last years team. If healthy there was a possible chance for us to have made the playoffs but it won't change the fact that we were a poor team and were very low on talent. Which brings us to this offseason and the need for the rebuilding of our Team.
The one thing that concerns me the most is the very real possibilty that the Rockets won't start to move up the contender ladder until the Dirks & Duncans in the West move on into the twight of their careers. In the NBA, mediocrity is very easy to achieve but can be almost impossible to overcome. It takes a determined effort from the top to the bottom of an organization to do so and, at this point in time, I just don't see that level of determination present in the Rockets' organization.
I don't care who we draft, until this team gets a leader were done. T Mac is not a leader and never has been. He doesn't have it in him. He was nowhere to be found after getting hurt. Also we need to look at Dallas/San Antonio for blueprints. We need a Josh Howard = Rudy Gay or Carney We need a Steve Nash, Devin Harris type = Trade Stro Show and 2nd round to move into middle of 1st round and draft a point guard of the future. Our offense looks foolish once Rafer hits the pine.
according to real gm this year's pick could be the missing link. http://realgm.com/src_goaltending/93/20060605/30_days_30_teams_houston_rockets/ Team Needs: A player who can do a little bit of everything and have a strong output if Tracy McGrady gets injured. Outlook: The Rockets would have likely been a playoff team if they were healthy and as a result get the chance to improve an already strong team. Most Suitable Prospects: Rodney Carney - A freakish athlete with incredible versatility. Carney would be able to provide another threat on offense and some much needed defense. Can play either the 2 or 3 spot and has the ability to drive and create for McGrady or Ming. Would be a solid fit in Houston. JJ Redick - Both Ming and McGrady draw double teams and Redick would be a great player to have waiting on the outside to hit treys. Redick would likely excel in a situation like Houston where he would get solid playing time and the ability to contribute without being the man. Marcus Williams - While it's doubtful that he'll be available, he could be exactly the type of player that this team needs at the point. A player who is comfortable with the ball in his hands, but also comfortable without the ball. If he is unavailable, Randy Foye is another player who suits this description. Best Case Scenario: One of Brandon Roy or Marcus Williams falls to the Rockets, giving them an ideal candidate to be a third star on the team. Worst Case Scenario: The Rockets decide to draft depth or reach on a project.
Im no seasoned veteran at this but ive been a rockets fan since i could stand so let me be the first to say what the hell are you talking about the same guy that scored 13 points in the final 35 seconds against the spurs and always i mean always puts this team on his shoulders and does everthing to make sure they win is not a leader. You need to make more than 3 post to call out a top 3 player in the league and a guy with the heart of a lion.
