I don't think many people still have faith in T-mac after all these years. I'm happy that he's gone as a Rockets fan.
LOL y should we care? we knew Tmac was not plannin to stay here, and he just doesn't fit our style. You know wut is stupidest move? Lakers getting Gasol for free now that is the dumbest move not this one. We better get JOrdan HIll from 3 way trade, we need back up PF
I dont like this deal at all. Kevin Martin is a good player and all but he is brittle and doesn't play any D. The Rox would have the worst defensive backcourt in the NBA. Who can K-Mart guard? And they are going to give up Landry? Bad move.
I think do not need to concern kmart defense. Even we have Battier & Ariza, our defense is also not good. Thus, k-mart will not hurt us much.
I know the Rox defense has slipped this season without Yao but now that doesn't mean you should go out and make it worse. I know K-Mart can score. Thats a plus. But how many games will he play each season? 50? 60? and who is the back-up PF on this team now, Kenny Thomas? David Andersen? Will the Rox be able to defend anyone now? If NY can get invloved in the deal and the Rox can get Jordan Hill somehow I would feel a little better. But not much.
Martin will be the perfect complement to Yao. He can shoot the 3, attack the basket, and he's tall enough to deliver entry passes into Yao. And when Yao returns, his presence should mask other Rockets' defensive mistakes.
Honestly, I'm not too worried about Martin. It's not like any of his injuries were recurring. And if Yao can get his weight down, hopefully that will prevent any further foot injuries.
I would like this trade if Martin wasn't so injury prone. On paper he does fit hte teams needs. Anyway, it was a good idea to trade Landry while his value was at an all time high. He was going to ask for a lot of money and I'm not sure he would have been worth it. The Rockets most likely aren't going to make the playoffs this year anyway and they can just draft another undersized PF. They seem really good at that.
I think we gave up a little too much. I think DM could have gotten a good deal out of NY had he played it differently. I know, we would have had a hole at SG and a bunch of PFs, but it would have worked itself out eventually. If we don't move them today or this summer, it will be interesting to see how the two youngsters work out.
This trade is going to be great for Trevor. He needs to be the 4th option, as he was on the Lakers, to space the floor so he can fire away from 3. This is HUGE for Ariza.
The key for this trade is that we can not pay both Landry and Scola for a big money in next year, and we can not score with Battier on the floor. This trade could solve both problems.
I dont understand who this deal improves the Rockets? You improved your scoring at the 2 guard position with K-Mart but now you are weaker on D and you lose firepower off the bench with Landry gone. You traded 1 rotation player for another. How does this improve your team overall? If Morey makes another deal before 2 o'clock then this has a chance to look better. If not, this deal isn't very good on its own.
Is the deadline over? Good side of the deals, keeping Landry would have been a lot more expensive than keeping Scola who is restricted and older. Now we have a bunch of expirings of different levels, i hope we can snag a big (in size) PF or a C. Tyrus Thomas was being shopped for expirings, now we have what it takes to deal for him or other PF's. Would have loved this deal if Jason Thompson was included in it, or Hawes.
