Dicussion closed, I have seen many games of the Wizards this year, and Jerry Stackhouse has been a dissapointment and Kwame doesn't have the feel for the game and he's just another project. And to even mention FRancis on this trade is a crap. Keep on dreaming Washington.

    I don't do it.

One of these days Steve will get it, and I'm willing to wait.

I would only do it if that #1 pick was very high; say, #3 (TJ Ford) and IF we had a 3rd-team involved in the trade, netting us players we really want. Who wants Brickhouse? Not me.

And we would also have to have a taker for Cuttino, say, something to net us a player who can pass.

I don't think Steve would be on the block, not seriously (although stranger things have happened), if simply because it's tougher to sell luxury suites for the new arena while trying to sell, basically, a whole new team.

Wouldn't do it either, but if you need a basket, who do you give it to? Steve, Mobes or Stack?

TJ Ford is not better than Jay Williams Jay Williams was two time player of the year that actually LEAD his team to the final 4 two years straight, one with Battier and the other with Dunleavy. Williams had range and his speed was very comparable to TJ Ford's (very very close). Ford can blow past people and so could Williams.

IMO, Jay Williams overshadows ford. Williams is a better athlete, has better talent and his play making skills is right next, if not surpassing, Ford's.

The reason why Jay Williams suck this year is due to Bill Cartwright. That guy has an ego the size of his head. If you put Jay Williams on a team that uses him, you can beat that he will become a great player (top 5 point guards in the league).

TJ also LEAD his team to the final four. I dare say that the UT team that went last year was nowhere near as talented as the Duke teams Williams lead (Duhon, Boozer, Dunleavy, Battier, Ewing). All of those guys would have been the second best player on Texas last year.

I think Jay is the better player, but athletically, if we're talking running and jumping, the edge is to TJ.

If Ford comes out, which I think he will (sorry, UT fans), I think he'll drop a great deal. Fair or not, that scare he had the other day will make a lot of teams think twice. I'd take a flyer on him, if we had a mid/low 1st rd. pick. He's a hell of a talent, but possible neck problems worry me. Maybe he'll drop and we can trade up.
(I guess I should have put this in the Ford thread, sorry)

Williams shows why it's unrealistic to expect guys to come right into the League and make a big impact. It happens (Hakeem), but it's rare.

I'm not up for the Wizards trade, although a lot of you are right... Washington would LOVE to get Francis.

(will the Coogs EVER have a good program again?? :( )

6'1" shoot first guards don't work in the nba (except AI). 5'10" distributors have a fighting chance. One eastern conference scout said TJ was the fastest player in the pros or college.

    Here are some stats:
    REBOUNDS
Player G GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF TOT APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
    Jerry Stackhouse 70 70 39.2 .409 .290 .878 .90 2.80 3.70 4.5 .93 .40 2.76 1.90 21.5
    Kwame Brown 80 20 22.2 .446 .000 .668 1.60 3.70 5.30 .7 .63 1.00 1.38 2.00 7.4

    Steve Francis 81 81 41.0 .435 .354 .800 2.00 4.20 6.20 6.2 1.74 .51 3.69 3.10 21.

    Eddie Griffin 77 66 24.5 .400 .333 .617 1.80 4.20 6.00 1.1 .68 1.44 .99 1.80 8.6

Steve is slightly better than Stack; Brown an Eddie are a push, although check out the FG%. Both have tremendous upside. I guess it comes down to, what player of the 4 are more unique/rare? I would say the Rocket combo is.

I think we alter the trade, and we could have a good deal. but Houston players and Washignton players all have the same problem, they just don't understand the game of basketball. They have the talent, that's fine, but they just don't get it.

Aside from this, I don't want to get any players who will be hurting Yao Ming. I really doubt Stack can co-exist with Ming. MJ was the best team that ever happenede to the Wizards' young players, but Stack comes out after the season and basically says they're fine without him.

Also, Kwame Brown will never be a star in the NBA. Name me the best big man in NBA history with hands as small as Kwame's. He'll never be a star. Griffin has more potential, and is only months older than him.

Yes, but Memphis owes it to Detroit. Would u trade Francis for Billups and the pick, if its top 3?

Yes I would, if he could get Darko Milicic. He my be a bust or he my be one of the best Europeans to play in the NBA. Worth a shot because Yao and Darko could dominate the NBA in the future.
