A guy on another forum put it best -

This is what makes sports fun - hating opponents for whatever goddamm reason you please. I don't think you have to rationalize it.

True. It's just how they went about it. "The Decision", regardless of how many people hated it.. they still went on and rubbed it in with the intro ceremony. Rockets or Celts didn't do that and the heat over did it with having 2 x top 5 players and a top 15 player joining together.

In terms of pure stats there are two players you can compare him with, wilt and MJ. That puts him in rarefied air.

Is he a top 10 player maybe not yet, but his career trajectory points that way.

Calling out people who don't like him vs. calling out people who said he'd never win, wasn't clutch, couldn't co-exist with Dwade, break up the Heat etc etc are two very very different things. I hope you see that.

Lebron this past year had 27/8/6, and he's in his prime.

    Prime Barkley had 28/12/4
    Prime Bird had 28/9/8
    Prime Oscar had 30/6/10

Those are just 3 players that rolled the top of my head as guys who generally fill out stats. I'm sure there are plenty of others too. Just so you know, Lebron is not the 2nd player in history behind MJ to know how to score, rebound, and pass. Even if ESPN makes it seem that way.

I'm pretty sure none of those guys you've mentioned have averaged what LBJ has done the past two years.

I can understand why people don't root for LBJ, as other posters have said he's an egotistical jackass. But the thing is, these same posters slobber over MJ and Kobe, and those two aren't exactly saints. In fact, they're even worse, MJ pulled strings to get Isiah Thomas booted out of the Dream team, and Kobe got charged with rape. LBJ's greatest offense? Hosting the "Decision", which incidentally raised 1 million dollars for charity.

@meh you forgot the 2 steals, mind-boggling 54% FG and lockdown defense. That's just the regular season stats though.

Playoff season stats: 30/10/6 on 0.500% FG with the same lockdown D.

You have to adjust that for pace, points scored, field goal percentage of time, etc. That is why I like using PER because it does that for you. If you look at that lebron is 2nd all time and nearly one point better than shaq.

A decade is a period of 10 years. The word is derived (via French) from the Ancient Greek dekas which means ten.

So again i ask......what player this past decade has been drafted that is better than lebron?

So is it that preposterous to say a player like lebron comes around every 10 years? This is what i mean by the "hate" getting in the way of common sense and logic.

I hope this is attempting to be sarcastic. These players are all fine and dandy but lebron is much better than all of them.
