We don't need to win 22 games in a row. We were fourth in the West last year, and we were 15-17 at one point. We're at least above .500 right now.
How is this overreaction and how is this a dumb thread? We have not looked like a playoff team Period. Maybe the OP should change the wording to This team is not a playoff team. But this is far from knee jerk.
lmao @ this bandwagoner. i bet you like the rockets just cuz of the streak last season. its actually dumb that we won that many games in a row and still lost in the first round. I dont care how many games we win this season, as long as we are in 8th place or higher, and GET TO THE SECOND ROUND. JESUS.
People need to wake up. Do posters on this board realize who's in the ninth spot in the West currently and not in the playoffs? It's Utah. They're one game behind the Rockets. Being better than .500 means nothing because somebody in the West this year is going to average better than .500 and still miss the playoffs.
Its an Overreaction because: After a 3 gm losing streak someone decides to say that were NOT gonna make the playoffs even though we're above 500. and still in the playoff race now, this is def. overeacting Its a dumb thread because: We haven't even played half of the season and people are counting us out, if u actaully believe we won't make the playoffs then maybe you don't find this thread so stupid, but for someone like me who has faith in the Team i find this thread stupid, no one can predictthe future.. now if he said "We don't look like a playoff team" instead of "This team won't make the playoffs" then maybe you'd have a point but no.. like i said this thread is an overaction and pointless preiod.
they WONT make the playoffs.. we made the playoffs by 2 games last year. oh and we also won 22 games in a row. That's NOT happening again. we're putting ourselves in serious jeopardy right now. byt he way, i don't know what's so hard about throwing the ball down to the 7 ft 6 center on every other possession. yao does NOT get enough touches and does not get enough shots.
This is not overreacting. Of the following three teams one isn't going to make the playoffs: Portland, Houston and Utah. Right now Houston is in the #8 spot and Utah's out. All three teams are over .500. All three teams are going to end the season over .500. Who cares?
Truth is "ifs" would say it all for this team so far: if TMac was 100%, if Artest was 100%, if Battier was 100%, and if Yao was 100% to start off the season this team would have been something but in reality this team needs a change to restart the drive for the "Playoffs".

after a 3 game losing streak? have we played better before that? have we looked good at all this season? This team looks worse than last years team when it was 15-17. This team has no continuity, no belief, they are starting to bark at each other...its not good. at least last year it was just getting used to the different style of offense from the new coach. this year has blown up in our faces and its not because of ron artest. this is not an overreaction because there are no signs whatsoever that we are turning this thing around anytime soon. even if we somehow make the playoffs, its gonna be another 1st round exit. its ok to remain positive and think this team will make the playoffs, but then what? we are just going to flip a switch and actually win a 1st round series?

Yeah, we narrowly jumped on train and beat the lakers in the first round? You made a nice prediction much better than mine. What's the difference we make the playoffs and get kicked right off the bat? I still have faith in this team... but not this season. Our major starters have been basically down...mentally and physically. It's sad but it's the truth. I just speak the truth, that's it.
Those "positive" threads like "just keep faith" or " this team will be all right" are much more annoying
To be honest, as long as the Rockets are above 8th seed, they have a decent chance at a first round series win. If they're in the 5th-6th-7th range, they're likely to face one of the following teams; San Antonio, New Orleans, Denver or the Suns; these are all teams that the Rockets can hold their ground against.
