This team will never win anything with Brock Osweiler at QB!

I think it's the same as it always was. Brock has this year and next year to make everyone a believer. If he can't do it, he's out of a job, if he can then everyone is happy.

So far it's been a mixed bag, he's done some good things, he's done some very bad things. He has to keep showing progression week to week or he'll be on the way out.

True Nook is playing like a b**** this season. I don't know if its the contract dispute or bad chemistry with Brock but he's getting punked on a regular basis by dbs, some that aren't even on his level its pathetic. This is not the way to show your value and get a new contract, this is how you fade into oblivion

If you want to see someone defend Brock on Twitter, here's Bucky Brooks:

Well, they have 2 weeks before the next game, hopefully they can get on the same page. Nuk is way too good to be playing as poorly as he has and Brock has to help him do that. If there is confusion in the huddle, Brock has to make sure that doesn't happen anymore, if it's something else, that needs to get fixed.

They just can't come out after the bye still having miscommunication errors. If they can't, then they have to scrap timing routes and just throw to Nuk when he's already open.

    No he wasn't...

I heard BO'B hadn't even met Brock until AFTER the Texans signed him...

"Bill O'Brien says first time he ever actually met Osweiler was when he first walked in the building for the introductory press conference.

    — Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) March 22, 2016"

Even if you were correct and it was Bill's pick, the fact the dude was the reason a person was signed admittedly without even meeting him....HAHAHA.....just wow....

Are you saying you agree with this? So after the next game (game 16 of his career) he will cease being a rookie?

I'm totally fine with giving Brock two years. I of course want to see at minimum small steps forward from week to week. I'm not sure we are seeing those yet.

I've been in Brock's corner from the jump and still believe signing him was the right thing to do. I'm just concerned that it will not work out at his point.

Brock aside, the way the Texans organization has treated the QB position as an organization is strange.

Always looking to backups that can probably be decent starters but aren't going to be obvious franchise QBs (Schaub, Brock... even if they thought differently when making the move). Not putting enough importance on the position through draft. (eg. their 3 QBs picked since 2008, none higher than the 4th round... vs say the Patriots, who have only had the best QB of all time on their roster for 15 years picking 5 QBs since 2008, including 2 third rounders and a second rounder)...

No, I don't agree with this; this is the response to someone asking me what does management think of Brock. He hasn't improved at all and we are just beating teams that we can beat. He should have had better numbers yesterday

I'm starting the wonder if Brock is ever going to throw for 300 yards for this team? Faced two of the worst pass defenses in the league and can't sniff 300 yards.

The Patriots are also a much better team; they can afford to draft for depth as they have fewer up front needs. Also, the QBs they've drafted have not been very good.

Look, part of this is luck... the Texans have had the top overall pick 3 times - and while Carr was a fantastic prospect in '02, there wasn't a can't-miss prospect in '06 or '14; they didn't fall into Andrew Luck or Cam Newton. And other than Derek Carr, I don't know that they've egregiously passed on a guy. After the first round, it get harder; after the 2nd round, harder still. After the the 3rd, it's nearly impossible.

I wonder what his stats look like when he is not throwing to Hopkins.

You know... I think they've done better than people realize. First of all, they have nailed every single first pick for nine straight years. Yes, picking in the first round is easier - but it's not *easy*. I may do a deeper dive later - but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a team that has absolutely nailed it's last nine first round picks. And let's be clear: NAILED. Watt and Brown are All-Pros; Hopkins and Mercilus are borderline All-Pros; Clowney may be joining them; Cushing was a DROY; Jackson has been a starter for six years and Johnson looks poised to take Joseph's spot; and Will Fuller has flashed big-play potential.

And while their 2s and 3s could be better overall - they haven't been that bad... McKinney was a 2; Fiedorowicz was a 3 - they both look better and better. XSF hasn't made the leap yet but he's an exceptional run blocker. Brooks was also a 3, btw. And Strong and Miller (3s) both flash potential.

They nabbed Jones & Crick - both NFL starters for very good units - in the fourth, and are getting production out of several 6s and 7s (Griffin, Hal, Blue, Covington).

When people complain about Rick Smith... I mean, I think his resume is better than people realize....

I agree about the late rounders and he's also found some UDFA gems but trading up for Nix and Posey was stupid, Brandon Harris and Swearinger(pretty much all our 2013 class) were wasted picks, and if I want to be petty, Ervin over Booker, and XSF being drafted over a lot of talent in the 2nd.

I don't think The Patriots are much better on paper than the Texans. Historically they generally have been but it's been much closer than it looks.

And it's not like they can just afford to throw away picks either anyway. They're gunning for titles every year too.

The difference with them is clearly Brady/Bellicheck.

But that being the case they'd probably be more likely to not invest QBs than other squads. But they still do. And while they haven't found the next Brady... they have gotten value out of their picks.

Some of it is luck. Not a lot. A lot of it is talent evaluation. But, even if a lot of it is luck... so? That proves my point. I eat in MORE quarterbacks even if you're just hoping for luck.

The Texans are going on 14 years now. Luck, evaluation, whatever. They're a horrible awful franchise at QB evaluation

I dont understand this...teams sign players ALL the time without meeting them. Why do you need to meet with someone first? Unless they have questions about a criminal past, then there is no reason to talk to any free agents. Did the Texans meet with Matt Schaub before trading away 2 second round picks for him?

Did the Rockets meet with Harden before trading for him? NBA teams routinely show up to big free agent's homes at midnight with contracts ready to sign as soon as free agents can sign with a team. NFL teams sign players all the time with a first encounter and contract.
