This team will never win anything with Brock Osweiler at QB!

When I heard this on the radio, I immediately thought "OK fine. You can look away from Hopkins and throw to your tight end buddies now".

Not sure how to post the tweet, but Aaron Wilson showed Brock's stats in the first 3 quarters vs the 4th and overtime.. Man, that was awesome. I would MUCH rather have a clutch QB who can come through in the last 3 minutes with a stellar performance, than one that played better than he did in the first 3 quarters all game. That was the kind of flash we needed to see from Brock. I dont think Hoyer makes that comeback even if it was only one TD down because he played better in the first 3 quarters.

Thank goodness Brock came through in the final 3min instead of the first 3min of the game.
    Whatever gets us the W

    Hoyer doesnt make that comeback.

Having said that, the Texans shouldnt have even been in that position to begin with....we had less than 100 yards passing thru 3 quarters against that defense. It really couldnt have gone any worse than it did. But, Brock came through and he deserves all the credit. Everyone seemed to step it up, including the defense. Just really hoping everyone can build and grow from this win.

If we manage to beat one of the best defenses in the NFL next week, I'm back on board. Hell, if we fall short, I'd still like to see Brock flourish in the opportunities he has. Personally, I think it was the Colts defense choking more than Brock being clutch.

But as for now, we have to be cautious. I didn't like being in the position we were yesterday.

Just like with the Patriots and Vikings...just give me a good game. I dont need a win against the Broncos, Im just looking for a pulse. We didnt get it against NE and Minnesota, and that is something that I need to see to have some hope/confidence as we progress through the season. If we keep getting blown out by playoff caliber teams, then what's the point of the season? Winning the division means nothing because we're just kings of the worst division in football. Sure, we can hang a banner, but everyone knows that would be by default. I want a competitive game, that's all Im asking for.

Unlike NE and MIN, I think the confidence is really high after this week's game, I think it transfers over, and It showed we can win in Primetime. As a fan, the win wasn't that impressive. As players, I think that win meant the world to them. Showed what they can do and Brock can flash.

Besides, we learned that in order for Brock to play lights out, he needs to be Boo'd. He will get plenty of that in Denver LOL.

Hoyer's thrown for more than 300 yards for 4 straight games; might not process into W's or L's but just throwing it out there

Main difference is that last night, BOB let Oz call the plays he liked in the 4th and OT

The reason it doesn't translate to W's is that it often doesn't translate into TD's. He has 6 total TD's in those 4 games where he threw for over 300 yards and his team is 1-3 and his team is averaging only 18 points per game over those 4 games.

In fairness that's still REALLY good for him, but the fact that he so rarely finishes a drive is why I've never liked him as QB. When he puts up yards, they feel like empty yards because they don't lead to points.

For a comparison, Osweiler has 5 passing TD's in the last 4 games and they were against much better teams and he never even came close to 300 yards in any of those games. Gotta get in the end zone or the yards are worthless.

How much of Brock's Problems will we blame on the O-Line?

I mean seriously . . . is our line very Terrible?

It was terrible to start the year. Not as bad as the expansion years, but certainly the worst since.

Its gotten slightly better with the return of Brown... but also the offense and Brock knows a little more regarding its limitations, thus they've had to adjust some of the play-calls.

Its still light-years away from where it was in the Kubiak hey-day. They also mixed in more zone-schemes last night that really helped the running game. Like most lines with a lot of changing parts, will take some time to get to a cohesive level.

A lot of it is on the line, but that's not why he was bad in the first 3 quarters last night. The line did a pretty good job for the most part (they should, the Colts suck) and Osweiler was sill just missing throws. Perhaps some of that is a lack of confidence that the line will protect him causing him to rush, but that's a stretch. He just has to do better and BOB has to find ways of calling plays that bring out the best in him. Perhaps BOB is failing at calling plays for him like he's failing at calling plays for Lamar Miller, or rather how he failed at that till last night.

It took BOB till last night to realize that Lamar Miller should be used outside of the tackles and receiving passes in space.....that's unacceptable. Perhaps he also hasn't figured out Brock's strengths yet either.

Wouldn't get too hung up on the plays being called. Brock has been attempting to force it to Hopkins on those plays, with other possible options available. Going to those other options primarily has him in a much better rhythm.

Also, Miller has had several designed plays to the outside this year... but they've been called back due to holding penalties by the edge blocker (usually either a TE or a receiver). Even had one yesterday called back due to Hopkins. Some crews don't call it as much, thus you may see more of it. Brown coming back also helps their versatility of what they can do regarding zone-reads for the running game. XSF has also done a pretty good job there.

You make good points...but Brock had 6 TDs over the first 5 games...So Brock was not only not finishing drives, but he was also not leading sustained drives and turning it over. Also, the Texans, prior to last night, average 16.4 ppg (Including a punt return TD). Therefore, we've been abysmal by all standards.

However, I dont see the Texans winning the game at QB with Hoyer at the helm. Brock does need to improve though.

OL looked pretty good to Lamar Miller yesterday
