This team will never win anything with Brock Osweiler at QB!

Bobby I'm not confident this will be the game for him to find his MOJO. This is a rivalry game so the Colts will be pumped up for this one. It does have the potential to be a high scoring game.

I do agree with everything else in your post.

It's the same coach that got Hoyer and Fitz around 95 QB ratings. Except, the Texans have better skill position players on offense this year compared to last year.

Better skill positions on offense, worse play by the offensive line. Also, the defense is not the same without JJ Watt.

That same coach who dummy downed his play book and ran a lot of uptempo. He's not doing that right now. Hopefully he wise up and speed up the pace.

Why is it assumed that his offense is complex right now? I see nothing but a basic, vanilla offense. It's not up tempo, but it doesnt look any different than it did last season or the season before.

I don't necessarily disagree, but maybe Brock is looking worse than Hoyer and Fitz due to the staff entrusting him with too much, too fast. Not to mention the o-line play.

We'll let me rephrase that, "they are putting together much on his plate". Maybe they should tailor it down a bit like they did with Hoyer and Fitzpatrick.

One of two things is going to happen this Sunday:

    1. Brock throws 2 INTs, 0 TD, and we lose the game or win by a field goal = Forum goes insane and riots start outside the stadium. Bobby becomes isolated in his backing of Brock.

    2. Brock throw 3TDs, 390 yds, 0INTs, we blow them out. = Everyone says the Colts D sucks and this doesn't matter. Mr. Clutch and Rezdawg point out that it wasn't as many yards as Hoyer got. Bobby rolls eyes.

Can't wait to see which one happens, hoping for #2 since at least that means a win for sure.

Sadly, history has shown #1 is more likely.

No one will complain if Brock executes #2.

I'll just admit I was wrong. I hope I am.

Ugh, I hope so too. But it is primetime.. Brock or no Brock, the Texans hate primetime.

I would expect Brock to put up good numbers. Anything less than good numbers and it's a big disaster. The Texans need to win this game, otherwise, they'll no longer control the division.

You would think that. But on the tiny off chance that #2 happens, please remember this post when someone has something negative to say, because there will be at least one I promise.

Remember that Hoyer padded his stats during the 2nd halves of the Miami and Atlanta games. 5 of his 19 TDs came during garbage time of these 2 games.

What if he completely implodes and we get blown out?

a guy(albert breer) from one of the fancy pants subscription articles came on seth payne's show and basically said something I've been wondering about since B.O.B got here. Basically they're trying to run the brady offense without tom brady.
the game plans haven''t helped brock nor has the line, the decision to get rid of brooks a diamond in the rough in exchange for the meaner allen or at leas that's what i was told hasn't helped the continuity of the line; nor the fact of facing two great defensive schemers.
with Wade and capers left on the schedule, they need to mix things up more. how about shifting, not allowing the defensive to know your tendencies and playing into their hands.

Until the Texans show they can run the ball they will face the same defensive scheme by the good coaches.

That's a component of execution. Remember, this offense is built around the QB first making decisions at the line of scrimmage and then executing those decisions. Brock looks rushed and inpatient; safe - a sure sign that he's thinking way too much and that the game is moving too fast for him. Maybe that's who he ultimately is - but he didn't look that way last year in what *was* a QB-friendly offense (ie they don't put too much of the QB's plate).

They need to survive these first 8 weeks (5-3 or 4-4 - and they *need* to beat the Colts) and then let's see if he gets better weeks 9-16. If not, we might be in trouble.

Then cuts need to be made and Brock needs to head to the bench. The Colts really are THAT bad defensively. If the O line can't block against the Colts who have only 7 sacks all season, they can't block anyone. If Osweiler can't pass against the Colts who allow over 300 passing yards per game, then he can't pass against anyone right now.

Now I don't know if the Texans win the game or not because the Texans are even worse against the run defensively than the Colts are, but offense shouldn't be the problem.

Yep. The running game is key to this offense being run effectively.

And now that other teams have seen the receivers can be roughed up thrown off their routes, every team is going to be doing it.
