Problem is that none of our 2s can slash and attack the basket when T-MAC is out. It's not for the lack of trying either. They either get cut off mid way and pass the ball back out to the perimenter only to have the shot clock run down, or they end up going in strong only to be blocked.Without TMAC, this team basically becomes a jump shooting team (only the shots are contested).

What's the wrap on Jawad Williams out of NC. I know he's a 6-8 SF with above average athleticism. Surprised he didn't make the cut out of training camp.

Either way, when Alston and TMAC get back, their is going to be an odd man out. If it ends up being Luther, then i'll officially join the "Fire JVG" bandwagon. Thus, it just makes sense to move one of our 2 guards for a 3.

Anybody know Kerry Kittle's status? A healthy Kittles would work wonders for this team.

We need either a defensive gaurd for the perimeter and penetration else a PF. Howard and Swift have been good, but a really intense rebounder, like danny fortson, would be a big boost. Rebounding has disapeared at crucial points in our games.

Tonights game proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that we need we need quick footed primeter defenders with Atheliticisim. the bulls guards were tearing us apart with there penetaration. gordon, hinrich and co were burning Wesely and DA off the court. the bulls penetaration was the deciding factor.

I just think we lose too much with Ryan Bowen replacing T-Mac. It seems were are playing 4 on 5 on the offensive end. I even prefer having Howard or Swift at that spot. Let's go for another SF for the time-being and cut him once T-Mac returns.

Rather than take any risks with Sprewell or Patterson (who has a $6.8M POpt for next season), just fix the backup SF problem in the draft. This way, if McGrady's problem is chronic, you can at least play him fewer minutes in 2006-07 and give him the weaker defensive assignment between SF/SG.

hope the Rox can make urgent "emergency trades" this december. I would be willing to part with our 1st round pick nxt year+ player/s in exchange for either: Luol Deng, Joe johnson, Al Harrington....they are all young that's why it will offset our given 1st rd pick

Harrington is the only "possible" on that list, given the fact that he's in a contract year and likely going nowhere in Atlanta. But it'd be nice to snag him: he can score and pass. (Of course, we thought the same of other players we've acquired, and no one's doing much of any scoring or passing on the Rockets these days).

Disagree. Harrington (like the other 2) is not remotely close to a "possible". He's putting up 17.7 ppg and grabbing 8.2 boards.

    The Hawks...

    * have his Bird Rights
    * have restricted rights since he's a RFA
    * cap room so they can easily match his current 6.9M/y contract
    * can get more than anything we have available to trade

EDIT: Harrington is UNrestricted. But coming off nearly $7M year, he's not likely to take a MLE. And both he and the Hawks benefit in a SnT. But we still don't have anything the want/need.

Hawks have 2 lotto picks that play the same position, plus Joe Johnson and nothing else. Hawks don't have a point guard or a real power forward. Harrington is in the way. Harrington is likely to move for a power forward and/or a point. We can give them Swift and Alston. They will get another lotto pick this year, anyway.

I would only trade Yao if the package in return included one of the following:

    Timmy
    KG
    The Detroit Wallaces

I wouldn't even trade Yao for Amare, at least not yet. Call me crazy.

Yao is not the problem on this team. Just remember how Yao was playing this preseason when TMAC was in the lineup. He was unstoppable. I expect to see that again when TMAC comes back.

Let's take a chance on Jawad Williams. He's pretty good when he was playing in UNC.

He wouldn't be the hustle guy Bowen is, but atleast he can hit the outside shot with regularity. When I think of Jawad, I think he's similar to Padgett, but more athletic, but also not quite as automatic of a shot. If Williams isn't a rotation player in the league within the next couple of years I'll be shocked.

Drop Dion Glover (hate this, but he's injured) and add Rodney White. White should by now be humble enough to listen carefully to a strong coach like JVG. White is tall, fast, athletic and hungry -- and we can get him for cheap for the remainder of the season. If he proves himself, we may not be able to pay him, but, then again, we will have the opportunity to draft a backup SF.
