We're not? I think we are.

Steve and Mobley's first season together Barkley had a career-ending injury. It was Steve's first year and Mobley's second; hard to say that season was a failure. Their second season together, the Rockets overachieved to a 45 win season. Noone, except maybe Rocket's homers, picked them to win that many games that season. And last season was an injury-prone season of the likes that have never been seen. It was a disappointment, but it's hard to say they wouldn't have made the playoffs if they had a healthy Steve and Maurice playing the entire season. Currently, the Rockets look to me like they're a playoff team. Blaming two young players for not leading a team to the playoffs in the WESTERN CONFERENCE in their first three years together isn't really fair, and quite frankly, unintelligent.

The Rockets have done a tremendous job rebuilding in just four years after losing the likes of (Barkley, Drexler, and Olajuwon). It would take most teams a decade or more to rebuild a team after losing that many players. Just look at how much worse shape the Bulls are in after losing MJ, look how long it took the Magic to recover after losing Shaq, etc. And you want to change the makeup of the team after three years of rebuilding from square one? When the team is just starting to come together? Give me a break! Talk about impatience.

I'm impatient because Minnesota is in the playoffs and i know we're better than them. You've got a good point about these guys being young, but when you look at the talent this team has, it makes you wonder why they've been defeated. It's just aggrevating when we lose to teams we should beat. I'm glad we won yesterday, but honestly, we should have blew them out.

This team is good enough to win it all. Why would you want to change it? The only player on this team that needs to change is Kenny Thomas. However, they just need to change his role on the team. A trade is out of question in the Rockets' brass minds.

This team does have chemistry. If you didn't see the game last night, it is how we won.

I wish people would stop being fantasy team GMs. It's really annoying. Rudy and CD have jobs in the NBA for a particular reason and we do not.

You act like we've had this same team together for the last three years. Did you not read DCkid's post? He explained it all. We are off to a hot start this year and things just keep getting better. Francis is an MVP candidate, Mobley is passing more, Mo T is back, Eddie is playing great D, and Ming is getting more confidant with each game.

How does Mobley hurt our team? He is one of the best SHOOTING guards in the western conf. and he makes less money than lots of teams bench players. He does his job and that is score points. He had a great year last year, especially the 2nd half of the season after his ankles weren't has injured as they were during the first half. It's a shame when people complain about greed and lack of loyalty in the NBA, yet when a player bucks that trend, people keep wanting to trade him. Shame on all of you. Mobley is a 2nd round sleeper who keeps getting better every year while Barry is a career underachiever who's only value lies in Fantasy leagues.

We should keep the team as is 4 now so they can build some chemistry! Trading now would be a mistake! I agree wit most of the panel, that CAT should NOT be traded, he is just too good of a shooting guard, even though, at time he masquarades himself as the " black hole"!! But that's his job!!;) To shoot da rock and he's a damn good one!!! To be honest at this point, I wish they would trade Glen Rice, sadly he's just NOT the same player he once was, and to give Bostjan more playing time!!

I agree with the trades. Everybody says we have to give this team a chance to play together-chemistry and such. If this team has not played together why would it matter to bring in a Brand or Duncan who havent played together also? Then we can let them gel with the team. If nobody has really played together yet. It is all new so why does it matter to be new with med-players when you can be new with great players. Anybody who says pass on Brand, Garnett or Duncan I dont know about. I bet managment would do it in a heartbeat- only concern is- can we fit one of the three under the salery cap? Two max players may be too much, much less three. I would like to thank the peeps who come up with these ideas though- very entertaining.:)

    please stop b*tching.

every time a thread like this appears, no matter how well thought-out it is (like this one), all you do is post the same redundant, sarcastic sh*t.

you're so enamored w/ this rockects team that whenever an idea of change or a bit of criticism is posted, you act like it's blasphemy.

    get over it.

I agree with JLB. The change right now that we need is from within. We don't need to shake up the personnel.

    swt939,

Did you really just b**** about b****ing about b****ing. At least RocketsMillinium had a take that Mobley for Brent Barry is as likely happening as Francis moving to SG. Saying we should trade Mobley for Barry is not a take, imo, because it won't happen. What worse is the Author's trade idea. Yeah, Mobley, Griffin, Brand and Kirilenko and Quentin Richardson are all going to get traded. What is your take?

If you get a kick out of ridiculous and impossible trades, why don't you just get a NBA video game like Live or 2K3? You could trade players all day til you explode:cool:
