You are screaming for Mike Miller........

Oh how I wish the Rox could pick him up.

You know, you're right! We really COULD use someone like that!

I swear, though, that sounds like the scouting report on someone awfully familiar. His name is on the tip of my tongue... I think it rhymes with "Lacy McFady" or something.

OK, to be fair, though, a "bigger" 2-guard is an interesting idea if he is also very athletic. The proposition of picking up Maggette somehow was nice to think about... He seems like a great fit, actually, but probably completely out of reach.

In theory, couldn't that player be Battier? Not that I really want to see him playing 40 minutes a night anymore, but ever since we started T-Mac and Battier together i've always found the SG/SF labels to be irrelevant.

Battier is still always going to take the more difficult 2/3 assignment and both essentially have the roles on offense regardless, right?

I'm curious about this and i'm wondering if i'm missing something. If we're going to get technical, I understand the basic definitive roles of each position. Is there something more than that though?

Regardless, I do agree with the need for an upgrade in the mold of a traditional SG of some sort. Mike Miller would probably be ideal....but also out of our price range. Same with a Mike Dunleavy or John Salmons type.

For SG's it would be nice to have:
    Ronnie Brewer
    Morris Almond (As a projet)
    Keith Bogans
    Corey Maggette
    Mike Miller
    John Salmons
    Thabo Sefolosha
Or trade up to draft 5-10 Chase Budinger/OJ Mayo

    PFs
    Sean Williams
    Brandon Bass
    Emeka Okafor (If we're lucky)
    James Jones
    David Lee
    Paul Millsap
    Charlie Vilanueva
    Draft Serge Ibaka

Oh MAN! EXACTLY what I was thinking. Heheh, bigger penetrator. If the stereotype holds true, Yao just won't be enough.

Height is so overrated.I'm pretty sure west isn't all that big himself.People say we need a tall point guard...are nash and chris paul really tall point guards themselves?

As many have said, Tracy isn't a tall enough SG? Thing is, he never really plays SG for us, b/c of our lack of big men.

And as far as bigger PF/C...7'6" is pretty big yo. haha

I know what you are trying to say.

The Rockets just plain don't know how to finish games consistently. Many times we actually have the lead going into the last minutes of the game, and find a way to not make buckets, and give up buckets.

Yao was one clutch shot short, and the team was down one McGrady.

The Hornets are pretty good, but we should have beat them. I miss #1. Not saying we would have won, but I like our chances better when he's playing.

I also think people missed that point. Rudy Gay is a good player. But he wouldn't have fit with JVG and his defensive schemes (he hardly fits defensively at the moment, despite what he does on the offensive end). But missing out on Brandon Roy who we so desperately wanted. He would have been a perfect fit. He can slide over to PG with Mac as SG and we could have traded for a wing or a SG. A bigger back court would have contained well, Deron Williams for one.

I, too, need a bigger penetrator. As John Granato says: "Who doesn't?"

I'm officially nominating "This team needs a bigger penetrator (SG) and a bigger PF/C" for Best Thread Title Ever. Seriously. The title has completely overshadowed the content.

The thing is, what and where is the bigger penetrator going to penetrate?

And I always thought it wasn't size that counted, but how you use the penetrator that matters right?

    :D

A team full of black athletes and some people still asking for bigger penetrators. sigh... some people can't be satisfied.

There is a guy sitting at home righr now named pj brown. he's a really good mid range shooter and ft shooter. he's long, tough and smart. he's also a good defender. I've said it before, he should be on this roster. a brown/scola combo would be much better than the current one.

West on a good night - West is a rocket killer. He murders our 4's consistently. We haven't had a four yet that can stop him. Plus he missed a couple of easy jumpers from the elbow that would have made his numbers much more impressive. Stop fronting, neither Scola or Hayes can check him. I like Scola better because he requires West to use energy on the defensive end. We all know Chuck requires zero defensive energy.

Landry is that guy! Big Power Forward and easily the most athletic player on our team. Rebounds, gets in the lane and has a sweet 18 foot jump shot. If he can extend out to 3 pt range, even better.
