Each FT that Yao and Bonzi missed late was like a body blow. Plus, Bonzi missed a lot of close-in shots that he should make. I was hurting after the loss but Tracy's injury report took most of the sting away.

yeah yao had 2-3 turnovers as usual and it hurt

but the gameplan was sound. they gave the ball to yao and he did a good job distributing, what are you going to do when bonzi misses layups and guys aren't hitting their 3s

with this team, it IS going to be Tmac at the end of games. if Tmac is out it IS going to be Yao. who do you want it to be Mike James??? rafer?

we're gonna have to rely on yao, even if he is slow. i prefer we work through these situations now rather than later.

this game was fine... couple dudes hit their 3s or Yao does his usual percent on FTs and we won the game. I actually liked what yao was doing with his passing last night, and that missed FT in 1.4 sec was the most awesome thing ive ever seen

yao is a crunchtime free throw choker. i don't know why because yao is one of the greatest free throw shooters at his position ever. but great players rise their ft percentage when the game is on the line. just like hakeem did it. yao on the other hand becomes worse. when i saw the end of last night's game i knew that we would lose because neither bonzi nor yao would make their free throws.

i hope that mike james gets his shot back in the next couple of games when he will be allowed to shoot more because t-mac's injured. and maybe luther can find his rhythm again. those two players can help the rockets to close out games. of course yao should be the #1 option regardless. at least as long as t-mac's out.

Yao only made one more shot than Rafer last night and took 5 more attempts. Yao also missed 6 free throws which is uncharacteristic of him. He did a much better job of handling the ball though with only one turn over and 5 assists. He probably would have had more assists if the whole team wasn't shooting a Rafer like 35%. Bonzi did a decent job of filling in for Tmac all things considered, but he shot 7-19 which isn't really any better than Rafer's 5-13. Add in 2-10 from Mike James with 3 turn overs and zero assists and Tmac being out half the game and it is easy to see why we lost. I give them alot of credit for fighting back though, considering we were down almost 20 before Tmac got hurt. The next week without Tmac is going to be really tough, so hopefully the Rockets can break out of the team wide shooting slump they have been in.

it has been 5 years for us to discuss the same questions for rox

3 coaches now, problem still there, just change the format

    problems are:

how to pass the ball the yao,

how to find the third scorer

how to find the PF can get the rebond quick and have mid-range shot skill

finally, how to make yao or tmc not injury!!

granted, tmac is much more better under pressure situations, to imply that yao is horrible is unwarranted. he's won many games for us, and almost won the game for us last night when he threw the ball back to himself at the line (which was freaking awesome by the way).

furthermore, the original poster seems to think that yao can't catch the ball at all. you ever think it might be the entry pass itself? from what i seen tmac and bonzi are the only ones that seem to know how to pass to yao correctly.

and lastly... this game was lost on ft's. that's it. not skip missing the last 3, not because franchise didnt play, not because tmac got hurt... but because of ft's. its that simple.

Our other late game option never stepped foot onto the court.

    WHERE IS STEVE!!!!.

    WE WANT STEVE!!!!.

How did Kirk Snyder and all 11 men get on the court and not Steve Francis. Im thinking Adelman must hate him or something

Have to agree. Yao still allows the defender to come around him and poke the ball away resulting in TOs at the worst possible time. Yao's been in he NBA a long time and he hasn't learn to seal his man off consistently so will he ever learn this?

What's the solution can we get him the ball in the post by hitting him with a pass while he moving on a pick and roll or coming around a pick? This sounds harder than hitting a stationary target so it may not work but we have to try something even a dribble handoff by the PG may work.

He needs to throw off the defenders timing better by using a head fake more often. When he goes straight up many times he's stripped or blocked.

WTF x 10000, Yao has ALWAYS been the person who hit clutch free throws at the end of the game, for this team, when it's becomes a free throw contest, everyone wants yao to be fouled and yao wants himself to be fouled to hit the free throws.

He missed like what? 5 free throws out of 20 so yeah let's trade him for not making those free throws.

Picture this: it's game 7, we're down by one, .5 secs left, we have two free throws coming up: which player do you want on our team to attempt those free throws?

I would say Yao is more reliable than Mac, but when Mac isdetermined and drives to the goal every play, he is the most reliable player in the nba. Yao plays so weak. How do you say DUNK THAT in chinese?

Yao missed his free throws because he is not a clutch player. He's a good player but not a clutch player. He was nervous.

A great shooter in the clutch? Where are we going to find one of those?

Oh, how about on the bench.

This is absurd. I've seen Yao, Battier, James, and Francis (at least) hit game winners in a clutch situation. No one is going to succeed every time. Give it a rest.

Keep imagining. Yawn. Steve isn't even eligible to be traded for another month.
