If the Rockets should lose tonight's game, then on foxsports.com, I would like to see an article written by NBA analyst Charley Rosen concerning the state of the team from his perspective. I sure wished he had written such an article after their pathetic performance last night vs. the Heat. A basketball coach not trying out a different starting lineup or not trying out his non-rotation players he has with the team struggling both offensively and defensively is just like a baseball coach/manager not making lineup changes when his team is not scoring runs. IMO, T-Mac and Yao aren't really superstars but instead, they are just average players now. If they were really superstars, I would think the Rockets would frequently blow teams out. They seem to lack the passion right now. I know that T-Mac is playing hurt right now, but if his sore right elbow is really bothering him too much, he shouldn't be out there playing at all since it is on his shooting hand. Superstars in the past who play hurt seem to find a way to do it effectively and still manage to help their team win games.
Toughness (or balls) are not gained by slamming people down to the ground or clotheslining people, they are gained by making shots at the end of games and defending well. Unfortunately, the Rockets don't seem to be able to do this at any period during the game. Disgusting.
Bull****! That little *** Devin slammed both Yao and T-mac and they didn't have the guts to retaliate. Some body on this team should've been head hunting the very next time he drove it to the basket. Sura would've taken his ass down and got ejected but it would have sent a clear message to the rest of the Mavs. I thought MJ, Scola, and Francis would've brought some heart to this team, but Francis is glued to the bench and MJ and Scola don't appear to have any cajones either.
yao needs to be pissed off when he plays, i dont like the way he plays "nice" basketball, man dunk that rock in ppls face taunt them a little get fired up!
Gutless. Pathetic. That was as crappy of an effort as I have ever seen from the Rockets. Rafer jacking up bad 3's, Bonzi throwing RIDICULOUS behind the back passes, Yao getting knocked to the ground on a flagrant technical and the entire team showing absolutely NO emotion towards it whatsoever, and the unnecessary last second slam dunk to seal the deal. The Mavericks very clearly have NO respect for the Houston Rockets. If this is a team of MEN, how can they allow themselves to be b**** slapped and treated like that? No balls. No drive. No will to win. This team doesn't look like it even gives a damn. Houston Rockets. The cuckolds of the NBA. ^^^^^ this post is golden.....it made me laugh, but it's soooooooooo true....teams don't "fear" tmac or yao.....players like Wade, Kobe, Bron, etc. would remember Crackhouse dunking on the last play of the game......this team is way too damn soft and I'm waiting for our GM to realize this.....trade Yao or Tracy...it's the only solution............
Steve Francis and to a lesser extent Luis Scola bring the energy and toughness the Rockets desperately need. Their play would rub off on others and inspire them as well. There is no way the Mavs get away with fouling the crap out of our 2 superstars with Francis in the game. Just look at the Phoenix game: Hard fouls when the Suns were going for layups and 5 stitches in the mouth of Barbosa all courtesy of Francis. If you still don't believe me, go look up that video of when Amare dunked on Yao and Francis gave him a forearm across the chest. If you let other teams do that to your best players they will continue to do it and you develop a reputation as a soft team. "It's Time" for things to change.
Another problem we are going to have now with RA as our coach is that he does not have any heart or intensity. Those are two things JVG brought to our team, and they are two things we really need because on the court we have no leader at all, Yao and Tmac could not lead a team out of a wet paper bag. Our team this year is not looking good unless we make some sort of change. If we even make the playoffs we will definitely not be going anywhere. We really need to play steve because that is something he can at least bring. Even if skill wise he is not any better than our other PGs (which is doubtful because they are the worst in the league) he will bring TOUGHNESS.
I think that it is time for Charley Rosen to write up an article concerning this team's lack of that will-to-win attitude after their rather pathetic loss to the Mavericks. It seems like the team is lacking the desire to win each game. I think that RA had success there in Portland and Sacramento because he had players who had that desire and heart for success. With this team, that heart and passion is missing, so it's just a bad reflection on him for the most part. I think the reason the team is not playing his motion offense every game is that the players are mostly lazy. For a motion offense to work like it should consistently, it requires players to move without the ball to get open for shots rather than be lazy and just stand around. You can't blame Yao for feeling like he was traded to another team because of that lack of heart and desire missing with this team as opposed to last year's team.
I am so sicken tired of some people want Yao to be Jet Li or Bruce Lee instead of a bb player. That's sick! Or whatever.
Let's be specific now: T-Mac: takes it easy; exaggerates injuries Battier: plays hard; not enough offense Yao: good attitude, can never get enough touches Hayes: offensively challenged Rafer: it's all been said Bonzi: balls but doesn't care 100% Scola: balls but confused right now Francis: loose cannon, game fading Snyder: spacey Head: too short to defend James: only wants to score
TMac walks up the court sooo slow. And if he doesnt have the ball, he will stop somewhere at the three point line and just wait. Maybe his team will hustle for an offensive rebound. Then TMac will get the ball and shoot a brick. Its so annoying how he never attacks the basket and on some plays, doesnt even look for teamates but just jacks up a shot he knows he will miss.
There have been pathetic losses with this team this year but this one I say trumps them ALL! Horrible shooting for largely the entire game, had over 2 days off to prepare for one of your intrastate rivals, the Mavs. You have been largely gettin b!tchslapped for the past 5-6 years by this team. You have been largely underperforming and lowering your fans expectations. You would at least expect the Rox to play with some fire and intensity, NOPE! COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! Don't play with any passion, Rox! Don't show any fight you may hurt my feelings! Just take in the ASS and ask for more. Our newfangled p***y Rockets! No heart, no guts, no passion, no wins, no ****!
If that's what it takes to bring him to the next level. Shaq certainly didn't become dominant by playing nice. Yao should be nice to his family, his team, and his fans. But to succeed he needs to be one mean son of b**** to the opposing team (and ref).
We all had great expectations on this team. Heck, I even predicted a recorded close to one you'd get if you simulated all the way on Dynasty mode in Live '08, which is, uh, about 60 wins or something. Now a team's doing that. Oh, that's the Celtics, my bad. The most glaring problem is that these players don't seem to be trying. No heart whatsoever. And the coach looks as if he doesn't care at all, that this record means nothing to him. As for TRACY... Yeah. Hell, we should DNP this guy. If there's an all-star starter guard you'd bench to help the team, it's this guy. Even Luther tries harder than he does, ******* it. Look at what PP is doing. Wade. Kobe. pay attention to your own team will you!
I wish Yao would just renounce his Chinese citizenship because as the Ambassador for China, he needs to be that Gentleman on the court. He has to be the good soldier and be the model citizen. I watched him play for the Chinese National Team, and he's a totally different mindset. I wish the Chinese Government realizes that people don't want an ambassador on the BB court, they want a HIP HOP Thug with gold teeth and a big clock around his neck. If you're reading this Yao, please renounce China and come to the Darkside. You don't have to be an ambassador of goodwill, just wipe the floor of these monkeys.
