It would be a mistake to think the series is lost. But if the Rockets are going to rewrite the story, it will hinge on Amen Thompson and Jalen Green. They are the future and heartbeat of this team. And if the Rockets are to find their rhythm again, it will be because these two rediscover theirs first.
We don't do anything to help our guys when they struggle, we don't adjust and run sets that set them up in places they are most successful, we don't play young players that need playing time as backups all year so they are ready for the playoffs, and we overvalue defense over offense, and we are unbalanced and can't score. And Ime is too stubborn to play others that help because they aren't good on defense. Meanwhile Kerr is playing a Gleague center in Post, a terrible defender in Heild and Curry and whopping our ass, because he is playing a system that helps his players, and they are all doing their jobs.....hell he brought Kuminga out of the basement to play significant minutes. Meanwhile Ime has Reed, Cam and Holiday that all could help but rot on the bench because he isn't good enough to make changes that work..... I am very worried that Ime is not a championship level coach - Kerr is coaching circles around him. DD
I don't disagree at all, I mean, it's always maddening how we never feed the hot hand. A guy hits 2 threes then goes to the bench. Defensively Ime is there but the only way I could see him winning a chip is if he had someone like Jokic, where that one player is just the entire offense. Hey, maybe we'll get extremely lucky, get the #1 pick, and Cooper Flagg is worth the hype lol. I have no idea why we don't play Jeff Green either. All year long he's been ready when called, he's the exact kind of vet you save for the playoffs like the Rockets did Nene those Harden years. Jeff Green would have been infinitely better than Amen tonight as the game went on, as unfortunate as that is. Amen just might not be playable this series.
The series isn’t over. If we win the next game, a big if, we’re tied 2-2, with the next game in Houston. Win there? We’re up 3-2 and there’s a dramatic change in the conversation, in my opinion. I’m more concerned about our lousy offense and the refs prejudiced calls than I am of Golden State.
People complaining about the offense putting the offensive struggles on Ime is crazy. As I said before, when we miss open shots, miss easy layups and miss free throws, that's not on Ime. On top of that, we don't have a go to player. I will agree that his rotations need to change. Put your shot makers in (Holiday, Cam, Reed). Even if they fail, you at least gave it a shot instead of running the same players that can't seem to hit anything.
Op and everyone who agreed with this should be ashamed of themselves. Win or lose in game 7 we have made this a great series. It wasn't over at any point even at 3-1. I am very proud of this team right now. Never underestimate the heart of a champion.
Ime has a “stupid mind” and you are the genius who wanted him to stop playing Fred and Amen. The arrogance on this board is unbelievable … what a shock that Bobby liked your post. Thank god fans are not running the team.
Never forget that a seven game series is a long series and there could be a lot of twists and turns along the way.
Talk about ‘irrational exuberance.’ Let’s see Coach Udoka win a couple of championships with our Rockets to get in the conversation, much less make claims that he’s a better coach than Rudy Tomjanovich. Ime has a long journey ahead of him to accomplish ONE championship. Color me impressed with the guy, however. Game 7 coming up, in Houston! This series? NOT OVER!
