The problem is we're not gonna get anything close to equal value for tracy now. teams are gonna be gun-shy soley because of his back.
I think the Rockets would make the playoff too. Yao should get consideration as post all-star break MVP.
Uh okay? Obviously this season hasn't gone anywhere near expectations. Am I disappointed? Yeah. But not as much as I was 2 weeks ago. Yao Ming isn't a "bright spot" in this year -- he IS the year. This season gave us an aggressive, dominating Yao. It has been, and hopefully will be a special season for ROCKET fans because it shows Yao has finally emerged from his shell.
You know what?.......for some weird feeling I am begining to believe you now. Something is brewing and it is good.......no SPECIAL! Yao is finally about to emerge in a very mighty way.....even more than we have seen already. This is going to be mighty special. I am glad I am on this waggon early.
Notice, first I said if that happens, 'cause I think the chance is slim. Second, I said it includes Tmac, it doesn't mean we have to. Third, if Yao can be that good, we don't need superstar, we only need a near-super star player(s) and solid role contributors.
Seriousely, the more i think about it, you're post has alot of merit. even if we dont make the playoffs, we've discoverd bogans, head and hayes. and most importantly has has become the most dominante big man in the game. 1 step back 3 Steps forward.
Yao is offically that good now. i'm still willing to give tracy more time to see how his back plays out. .. overall, i agree with you. yao's emergence as a beast, makes this season a step in the right direction for the future.
IF Yao can lead the Rockets to the PO this season w/o Mac, hand him the league MVP please. He deserves it.
Uh no, getting to the playoffs is a positive one thing, but getting blown out in the 1st round detracts from it.
I want to believe you, but I just can't. I think teams are going to take Yao out the game and dared the scrubs to beat them.
Great... we make the playoffs, miss out on the lottery, and proceed to get slaughtered in the playoffs...
So I take it you believe in <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print?id=1193711&type=package">Ewing Theory</a>?
Uh, yes... If Yao takes a team with half of it's offense, and half of it's overall production, half of it's identity (T-mac, and everything that comes with his stepping on the court, he is literally half of the team).. into the playoffs.. he DESERVES at least to be seriously considered for the MVP.. at least.. You just can't deny that.. what reasons or explanations are you going to point to? Wesley? Bogan? Juwon? Rafer? they might help.. but no way, is anyone in their right mind going to say.. the Rockets got into the playoffs without T-mac because of anyone else or anything else, other than the sole, fierce, unstoppable, superstar emmergence that is Yao.
