That three against Clippers in game 7 at the end Bev and Ariza are guys that will hit that big shot to seal things up in playoffs watch.

Suns have the advantage of Matrix and Amar'e both of who were a damn sight better than Ariza and Capela.

On the other hand, Harden is far better than Nash could ever hope to be.

As for the other cats, Anderson and Gordon are probably more talented than some of the role players Phoenix had, but Phoenix has two top-flight backups in Dragic (for a season, at least) and Barbosa, and for a season they had Joe Johnson as well (before his career really took off). We have Lou Will, who started hot and has gone very cold, so not sure which version of him we will have in the playoffs.

We also have a little more bench depth in terms of guys who can fill in a few minutes here and there. Suns were always 6-7 deep, but they also had a nice rotating cadre of vets (Diaw, Thomas, Jalen Rose, etc...).

Compare our roster to Phoenix's best regular season roster, or the one that was close behind.

    04-05 Suns (62-20) http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHO/2005.html
    06-07 Suns (61-21) http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHO/2007.html
    16-17 Rockets (56 wins?) http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2017.html

We compare quite favorably, overall, IMO.

Joe Johnson wasn't quite as good when he was a Sun.

Ariza should be your 4th to 5th option at best on offense. In this role he just needs to be hot at the right time. Last year during playoffs we were just playing street ball.

Oh ok if talking bout Matrix at his best that's different. I'm looking at Matrix playing a particular role versus Ariza playing that role. Ariza played the role on a damn good level with the Lakers when they got the ring.

Yes he gets cold from three which sucks but this year with the record not being so trash he will get to rest before the playoffs. He doesn't have his legs right now.

The Suns were contenders, and their rosters was better than ours. That mostly speaks to how great Harden is.

I am Rockets through and through, but that is a tough call. When Phoenix was healthy back then they were a load to handle.

I remember those D'Antoni teams use to whip the Rockets with Tmac/Yao and Van Gundy.

Look at this game, Barbosa dropped 32 on us, they just controlled the tempo

Tmac 19 points on 28 shots

Well for me the Suns were way better than this year's Rockets, they just had better talent overall esp. at their peak they had 4 max caliber players with Joe Johnson.

The good thing though is Spurs they faced against was also way better than Spurs nowadays, just Prime TD alone made all the difference.

So IMHO it doesnt really matter.

The only thing I want to compare is how many titles MDA can deliver us.
