With all this drama w/ T-Mac and alleged Rockets' desire to trade him, I am extremely happy that the Rockets have a GM that wont make a move to make a move. Remember how much venom was spewed from these boards during the past draft, how Morey finally showed his incompetence for not getting Rubio (though we don't know what it would take to get him) or not making a move to get any number of players in the mid to late first round. Few months later, Rubio is still playing in Europe while Chase (a second round pick) is showing that he IS a rotational player and a likely starter down the line. Morey has improve the team while not mortgaging any of the future pieces or potential trade baits. This is why I believe Morey would not trade T Mac just to make a splash, he might even just let the contract expire understanding that while it may not give us all the cap space of signing a max player, it also doesn't hurt us. I am OK with that. Sometimes the best move is no movement at all. 敌不动, 我不动
Fantastic post, wizkid83. If one lesson was learned in this T-Mac debacle, it is that one Darryl Morey is more intelligent than the sum of all clutchfans.net posters (Kindly note one exception: raj87 of course)
Makes sense. I don't think we need to trade Tmac right now. Playing him a little and see if he can fit into the system is the best thing we can do righ tnow.
Well put. Yeah, letting his contract expire may not give us the value of trading him for star potential, but the reality is there is no deal on the table for that kind of potential at this time. Trading him would be the best use of his contract if it was a good trade, but letting it expire would be better than making a poor trade. Also, folks need to remember it takes two teams to make a trade. T-Mac for Wade would require Miami agreeing to it, for example.
