This squad won 51 games last year and weren't together all year......I'd take my chances. ;)

If Juwan is retiring because of his heart condition (and it's just hypothetical), then who'll fill the PF slot if we don't sign anyone?

    T-Mac. We'll go small-ball, or "1-guard, 2-guard, 3-guard, McGrady" as HeyPartner likes to say. :p

The signing of any old broken down Knick, and JVG has brought a parade of these to the Rockets. All POOR decisions, all non-contributors, all have sucked up money. I always thought JVG was smart, but these have all been DUMB moves. Please, JVG don't bring Spreewell et al. Please!

The signing of any old broken down Knick ...

Ya know it is in the realm of possibilities of signing Allen Houston and Spree and letting JVG relive the Knick glory days. Hey we already got Ward ;)

Worst summer ever? I think the first poster got it right.

I can't even imagine how we'd manage with Walker and Spreewell. There arent' enough shots in a game for both of them, nevermind that Yao and Tracy are also on the team.

    1. Yao gets recruited to the Chinese army and we never see him again.

    2. TMac pursues his baseball career and signs w/ the Mets.

    3. The entire city of Houston become Spurs and Mavs fans.

Walker would be nice - if he knows he is the third option

Spree is just a bad guy and a bad citizen - I want no part of that !!

Sprewell on the team he is coaching is JVG's wet dream.

My worst fear right now is for juwan's health. If he does not come back, we are stuck with maybe a resigned padgett, and a fat spoon. We really do not have money to get a rebounding - shot blocking 4 - though we might do a S&T deal.

My worst fear is Juwan unable to play. Even if we got insurance to cover 80% of his remaining guaranteed contract. The market is picked over and we will have trouble getting a banger.

My second worst fear is that we do not at least dump off Spoon or Wesley. I know a lot of people like Wesley here- and I admit he did much better than I expected in the regular season- he did not show up in the playoffs - No D on Jason Terry.

I want rid of at least some of these old players- Spoon, Wes, Ward, Baker, Mooch, and Sura........

A couple of things to add-

I fear A. Walker- aa lot of money for a ball hog who does not help enough on defense.

I fear Damon Staudemire- a good ball handler who is getting old and brings problems....

That the Rockets get priced out of the F.A. market like they did last season for point guards.

It seems like it is happening but there is hope I guess. The market for powerfowards has yet to be set.

Thats basically my biggest fear. Even though this current team (with a healthy Juwan Howard) could still make the 2nd round next year, we NEED an improvement in talent level if we are to make a real run for the championship THIS season. Adding Head to the roster will not accomlish that goal.

    1. The Rocket splits its MLE on several useless players again like last year, instead of spending all the MLE on one pretty good player.

Since you can have MLE every year, you'd better use it to build a team piece by piece, year by year. If you split it up and used it on some temperary guys, you are patching holes, not building a team.
