And now they made it worse b/c they let a man, Senator Murphy, finish reading the letter. Two weeks after a women's march. Truly the height of stupidity.

I like Warren but let's be honest here. Will AG Sessions do any more damage than what Billy Clinton and Joe Biden did with the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act? Billy and Joe destroyed generations of black and brown families and it's ongoing.

I understand Warren is fighting this fight because it's the current fight but c'mon, let's go after the Crime Bill with the same fervor if she really cares about racism in government.

Yea they working so much, it shows with everything they've gotten done over the last few years.

Honestly, I can't believe you're defending dirty, algae covered, politicians who are against term limits.

She's a senator, it's a big part of her job to confirm members of the cabinet. You are right, this is the current fight but any fight she's in she uses that same fervor.

First, not defending congress. Congress has many problems, but what you are complaining about isn't one of them. But if you are so determined to complain about and change the way they work, perhaps it would be useful for you to call your congressman (House and/or Senator) and ask to meet to find out what they are doing to represent you. Most people can't even name their congressmen... and complain about congress. In your meeting, challenge them to work more and/or better for you.

Second, run for office. Or find someone you like, and actively support them.

And third, I am not all that sure term limits is a good solution. There are always a new group of congressmen that come into the House and even Senate. I suspect those freshmen congressmen were also not in the Senate during Warren's speech, btw. So perhaps just getting someone new isn't the fix to what distresses you...

This is not about the rule. GOP senators have impugned plenty of members over the years without this rule being enforced. Bobby is just deflecting from the real issue.

You are doing everything except addressing the topic of the thread. Try to stay on point, please.

McConnell is an idiot for preventing Warren from reading Mrs. King's letter into the record, and Trump is an even bigger idiot for nominating Sessions in the first place.

I see both sides of this, both in procedural terms, and in political terms. In short, business as usual in Congress.

Except that it isn't "business as usual." It hasn't been business as usual since Obama walked into the Oval Office.

I read that whole letter yesterday. Its pretty damning and disgusting. He has no business as Attorney General for the whole of the United States in my opinion

Yea and so??? Fack them all for pretending to protect minorities now when they stood by and let Biden and Clinton destroy generations. And still to this day done nothing to mend and fix it. But that don't stop them asking for the Hispanic and Black vote though. Disgraceful.

Interesting column in the Daily Beast seeing McConnell's play as very intentional. The GOP's cold calculus could be to elevate Warren, who has high negatives with the GOP base and honestly a lot of independents. If she's the 2020 Dem candidate, of course, welcome to more years of Trump or whoever is left if he's run out of D.C.

Others have also projected that... though honestly, I think the party will look younger and more middle-America. Though I definitely could see her as a VP candidate. Love to have her taking on an attack mode that VPs are often asked to handle.

I'd put my money on Warren winning that battle.

Bill Clinton didn't destroy "generations of black and brown families". The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act made communities where "black and brown people" live safer. The amount of illegitimate BS out there over the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act is scary.

There isn't a "Black Genocide" either.
