this year's Tracy is our best player..? so much for western conf finals hopes.. let alone.. championship aspirations..
Come on guys. No need to create a rift among fans of the same team! I think we can ALL agree that this team ain't going nowhere without Yao Ming AND McGrady on the floor at the same time.
Umm, last year the Rockets lost to the Grizzlies--even though both Yao and Mac played and Mac had 40.
We have no leader, if must have one, I even think our benches can be our leaders, always our benches play much better than starters. Our offense is missing again, and worse our defence is also missing, how important Mutombo to us have reflected entirely, Morey should resign Mutombo soon, last season we won 22 games in a row, we still have him, and then waive Head, Wafer can take his place well. Head is missing, only vs Spurs played good. Artest and Tmac are out. I dont think Grizzlies is a weak team, their have big guys in the center, but have Yao only. We are too complacency, all the media said w had a great win, winning of vs Warrors, but look at Spurs vs Warriors, they only let them scored 88pts, while we 112pts.
Straight up. Yes he is. He is the most talented player on this team. Not the most consistent, but most talented. He will be our best player in the playoffs. It all depends on if he gets help or not.
the thing is, we lost to a team that is behind in the standings but people tend to forget the facts. the fact is, when we play athletic teams, we often struggle. just last game against gs, we didn't pull off until late in the 4th. casual and inexperienced fans set themselves up for unreasonable frustrations due to incorrect expectations (like we'd easily blow away the griz).
leader? no real leader in this team... yao cant be a leader for sure since hes soft and only good in certain matchup games. tmac...hes done due to the injury and i dont expect him much anyway. ron is overrated just like yao. this team do need a REAL SUPERSTAR.
Yes they are but they are are not closers and that is the problem, they are very good examples in terms of work and effort but at the end of games they would prefer to either operate from the perimeter or not get good post position and turn the ball over than be aggressive and finsinh games strong. Yao and Tracy try to impose they skill into a game while Kobe, Wade and Garnett will their teams. Garnett may be perimeter but he hits bigs and plays clutch defense at the end of games.
ah yes.. the playoffs.. of course.. where Tracy will pay dividends.. and it's only a month away.. what was I thinking..? it's these silly losses to teams like the Grizzlies the worst team in the league, the Pacers/without Tracy, the manu/parker less Spurs/without Alston, and the terrible showings against Portland.. with a full team.. and a still ISO prevalent Tracy.. that just get to me.. and keep me from seeing things with a clear mind.. ......... oh wait.. I'll go out on a limb and guess that you two.. are those that subscribe to the not-to-likely assumption.. that Tracy will be back to a nice 20+ 6/6 44% performance for the season.. getting to the basket at will.. without heavy reliance of screen after screen after screen... once he feels.. "fully healed"..? with his on the ball dominance.. carrying us to the promise land..? he's still our most versatile player.. yes.. however, not our undisputable best.. not anymore.. let's focus on the task at hand.. the terrible patterns of our team's performance as a whole through the regular season.. and live in the present.. when it comes to Tracy..
Well, its no fault of yao, but Mcgrady has led a nba team before and yao hasn't .That's not his fault, its just what it is. This team can play and succeed in the regular season without yao. That's not hating that's just the fact.
I agree.. we were simply kidding ourselves.. what with the perennial all-stars, big 3 of Memphis.. Darko, Marc Gasol, Warrick.. my god.. Without Ron and Tracy.. Yao simply didn't have a chance.. sometimes our high expectations just know no bounds...
Well tback is at home too busy rubbing his sore knee. The doctors already said tmac can't make it any worse and it's just a matter of his pain tolerance. Unfortunately, tmac's pain tolerance is a papercut.
Your facts are essentially correct but... How good would a Yao-based team without McGrady be if the emphasis had never been on standstill spotup shooters? Or if management had cleaned house quicker with all the one-dimensional defenders Van Gundy over-emphasized? Athletic teams have an easier time taking Yao out of the game when you've constructed a team that gets few fastbreak points, weakside blocks or creates few mismatches on offense.
Have a good dream, we need to remember this game, we have too many times lose the game when we vs weak..
It's hard to lead a team if you don't get the ball. If TMac is out, then Yao Ming is F-ed if they front him. If Yao is out, McGrady can still control the tempo of the game b/c he has the ball in his hands the majority of the time.
mcgrady-led magic teams barely entered the playoffs in the much weaker east. the last year he's in orlando his team only had 17 wins. so why not give yao more time and let him try? this team, with everyone healthy, can win as well without mcgrady - despite missing a 20+ million $ cap space. it's not about any individual player, it's about the team. thought you'd know better.
i think... the best vocal leaders in this team are RON and BATTIER and they can back up their mouths by the passion they display when on the court..and w/ the addition of BARRY who loves to talk that only helps. TMAC and YAO are the focal point of this team and the way they lead this team is by example and make plays and take over games to inspire their teamates on the floor... all are leaders in different ways..and it all comes down to accomplishing things as a team.....you can be a good leader but to be a great leader you need to have good followers... and i believe w/ a complete and healthy roster we could accomplish anything and the leaders of this team will be known as great or good leaders except for the haters...there will always be haters.
