    ChinaWang,

China is one of the biggest offenders of human rights in the world.

Do you debate that? I am glad that China is changing, how did the last elections for your free government go?

    What? no elections? Why not?

China is changing, but they don't recognize any copy right laws, they don't recognize most international laws etc..etc..

As for the UN, I think we proved it was irrelevant. If it wasn't we would have slapped China for Tianiman square.

that's true. but it's not the same as saying China as a country doesn't respect Human rights. I think America has its human rights problems too. but that doesn't mean America doesn't respect human rights, right?

Just because China is run by one party doesn't mean it's not free. I would admit that it's less free than the USA. but the communists would argue that USA is run by only capitalists, Democratic or Republican. low class people are never represented in the government.

that's not true. Copy rights are protected by law in China nowadays. it's just that they haven't found an effective way to enfoce it.
also, it can be argued that people should have right to free softwares. that's why GNU was founded.
back up the claim China desn't recognize MOST international laws.

prove me that invasion into another country without UN permission isn't a breach of internatioinal law. then maybe you can talk all you want about how China doesn't respect international laws.

    Look,

I don't dislike China, just think it is run by a corrupt government that has little regard for human rights.

How many babies can people have in China? What happens to the babies that are killed just as they are being born with a shot to the head?

What about Tibet, you guys gonna quit occupying it anytime soon?

Just because the Chinese government sucks does not mean it's people are bad, they are just misled by a lack of free press.

At least in the USA we get to see all the sides of an issue and not just what the government wants us to see.

As for Iraq, yep, we took them down without UN permission, guess what, the UN is not a governing body.....so we don't need their permission.

    :)

And China DOES NOT follow copy right laws...and all software should NOT be free, the people that put in the long hours to make it should be compensated. As for capitalism it is the best system ever put in place on this planet.

Everyone has a chance to get rich, just work hard and come up with a good business or idea. Capitalism works. Communism doesn't.

I saw a program on China's human rights a while back and they were talking about teams of men assigned to enforce these laws who get bonuses for the number of abortions that are performed. Some really disgusting stuff.

I know timing, they shot the baby in the head just as it is crowning and about to be born, it kills them instantly.

so you think one-child policy is a breach of human rights? but I think most of Chinese people don't have problem with that. they understand it's in the best interest of their country to implement that policy.

I spent the first 18 years of my life in China. I didn't see anything like that during that period of time. and I'm sure EVERY Chinese will be appalled if they know things like that happened in China.
so what's your point? didn't USA have school shooting rampages?
what can you draw from that?

    1. I don't know the world's opinion on Tibet. what I know is that Tibet was already part of China before there's the united states of america. I'm willing to read your story about how Tibet was a country and evidences along with it.
    2. It's ironic you said you didn't need UN permission to make the invasion into Iraq justifiable. if might makes right, what's your problem with china "occupying" Tibet?

Software piracy is ILLEGAL in China. it's your problem if you don't believe it.
it's your opinion that all softwares should not be free. there're people out there(including USA) that think they should be.

I believe there may be better systems than capitalism. I'm no communist. but i think it's too early to say communism doesn't work. that's another big debate that i don't want to get into.

North Korea is *now* different from Iraq because most of our active duty ground troops are committed to Iraq or will be soon, unless we plan on invading North Korea solely with the Navy and Air Force, it aint gonna happen.

Of the remaining Army divisions, the Second Infantry Division is in South Korea, the 10th Mountain Division is headed to Afghanistan and a brigade of the First Infantry Division is in Kosovo.

Only two divisions, the First Cavalry Division, which is based in Texas, and the 25th Infantry Division, which is stationed in Hawaii, are not spoken for at this time. As one Army officer put, they are the only ``action figures'' left.

Do the people who have girls instead of boys have a problem with the policy, especially in rural China? I am not saying that China does not need to stop its population growth, but because of this policy many girls have been killed.

Chinese occupation of Tibet is completely different than America taking the lead and getting rid of Saddam. Since when has Tibet been a threat to anyone else? Come on man...you know those two scenarios are completely different.

Dude...you have got to be joking when you dismissively say its an opinion that software should not be free. If you are so willing to dismiss the rights of patents and stuff then you are willing to accept all piracy of anything. It's like you are trying to justify the stealing of ideas, products, and using people's hardwork for free. If you made something unique and you tried to sell it to make a living off of, but instead someone stole the product and just started giving it out for free and hurt your ability to make a living you would be pretty pissed off, wouldn't you?

Anyhow...just because it is illegal doesn't mean it is enforced. If the Chinese government was really serious about enforcing piracy laws then it would be enforced in some way.

If communism isn't a failure then why is China moving towards capitalism? Why has it repeatedly lagged far behind capitalist societies? There really isn't much to debate. State run economies are ineffcient...it has been proven over and over again. Also, there maybe better systems their capitalism, but they haven't been discovered yet.

We have evidence that point to Tibet being part of China and it being independent for some period before the "liberation" 50 years ago. It's debatable, but honestly, who are we to criticize China's ownership/occupation of Tibet. The US was built on occupation and violence. My house is probably sitting where a tepee once stood. We're living in a glass house. I'm not agreeing with what happened to Tibet. I'm just a bit perturbed sometimes by our holier than thou attitude of thumbing noses and pointing fingers.

I am not complaining about China occupying Tibet, just pointing out that they should not be criticizing the US, when their house is in such disarray.

Killing babies. why?? why kill it, I can not understand.

Like erery coin has two sides, US had invaded china before, so we can conclude your nation is aggressive and dangerous, shall we???? I do admit that in the history some couple may kill their girl babies secretly because of one-child policy and the history reason, JUST SECRETLY and it had past, it is strongly forbidden in the law, you will commit a murdur crime if govenment konws and you will be arrested, that is true.

It is ridiculous to own this to the government attitude to human right!

I don't know whether Jonhty is chinese or not, but he knows the fact , and he just tells the fact.

Failure??? how do you know? give me evidence please.
Moving toward capitalism?? Do you know china? I doubt, do you know "one nation two policies " , the famous theroy found by DengXiaoPing.

We had a brilliant history before Tsing dynasty (study chinese history please), when your country was not founded.
Time tells the truth, it is early to say so.

Why does China needs to "have its house in order" for it to be able to criticize US actions or potential actions regarding North Korea? That logic makes absolutely no sense. If there is war in N Korea, China being a neighbor will suffer consequences including a potential mass refugee crisis and so forth. I can also understant it opposing it on the ground that the US has no "right" to attack another nation through "pre-emptive" justification. Therefore it seems that it's criticism of possible US use of force in N Korea is reasonable and justified.

In any case, it is utter nonsense that a nation or a person cannot criticise another without being being near perfect itself. That is silly.
