Sterling would never do it, as BGM pointed out. It's really "pointless" to talk trades that send any significant money to the Clippers, whether it would make them a better team/sell more tickets or not. Sterling is in Webster's under the definition of cheap. Sad, but true. I'd love to raid his roster. The only trades he'll make are trades that get him low contracts for a few years (for players he thinks he can trade when their contract is up for more cheap players) for guys he thinks will put some people in the seats with "potential" and for picks... he loves picks (they're cheap!). That's the only reason we might be able to swing a deal with him. We have some players that fit the description. And we can alway toss in one or two future picks... and the Chicago Obligation.
Contracts aside, the Rockets would get more talent in the trade. The talent level of Brand is equivalent to SF and Maggette is equivalent to Mobley. But there's no way that Cato is worth a number 5 pick.
