    no sarcasm here.

I truly believe that if the Rockets had the cap space, that they could have lured one of the big FAs here this year.

    but they don't.

and there aren't any big FAs coming here just because Houston is a "classy organization".

The organization deal is secondary. With few exceptions, money is what attracts the FAs. Once you have multiple suitors offering the same moohlah, then the FAs start getting picky.

    anyway, my two cents too.

I think anyone basing their argument on players such as Horry, Elie, Carr, Roderick Rhodes, Kevin Willis, etc are lunatics because all these players could no longer help the team in any way. In fact, the reason any of these players may be mad at the organization stems from the fact that they probably enjoyed playing for the Rockets and for the organization. Its like this....If youre never friends with the kid who sits next to you in class and then one day you go up to that kid and say Hey, Im moving seats and dont want to be friends with you anymore, will that kid care...Hell No, cause he had no feelings for you in the first place. But, you can see if you were really good friends and you said that than of course the kid would be really hurt and feel angry. Anyway, Othella would like to come back so you can disregard him also. On to Scottie, well Scottie just sucks. Not only did he never put any effort into helping this team, he was a horrible man in the community (anyone remmebr that DWI). Shandons case is different. He was not happy at first. But, unlike Scottie, he worked with the coaching staff and the team and by the end of the season it was completely obviousl to everyone that he is happy. If you ask me, Shandon is one of the more wellrounded players in the league and I am not too sadenned by his loss. Sure, you can say we will have no bench after taht, but Id really rather hve a fabulous starting squad (ala LA) then a good stating squad and a good bench (ala Portland, who can never overcome the awesome starting squads--SA then LA). Cuttino leaving improves are starting squad, giving Shandon more experience and a better chance at being "happy" and giving us more cap space in 2001 to go after someone like Webber. I really cant see any reason Webber would NOT want to come here if we offer him the max unless our rebuilding process hits a big snag and our record this year isnt good. Even with cuttino leaving, I see this team growing, perhaps learning to concetrate on defense more, and improving to a similar stage as Orlando was this offseason. Now, nobody was going to say they were contenders, and all Grant Hill cares about anymore is winning, but Orlando still roped him in, so we should be able to do the same with somebody like Webber. Certainly, if he doesnt come it wont be because of a negative feeling towards the Rockets organization. If your looking for a club not liked by many players around the nBA look at Chicago, cause Houston is not your answer.

    Been one longer JayZ...

Hottie, next time before you insert your foot into your mouth, look before you type. You refer to ALL my negative posts. I challenge your weak mind to find a few from the last few months. Go ahead try.

Again just for you slower folk (ahem Hottie) Im not even saying the Rox were wrong for their stances on each and every player, just that there is a (key word here you winner) PERCEPTION. That could be had by potential FA's. Now unless you have some intimate relationship with just about every NBA player, you couldnt possibly know otherwise.

    Next time try harder.

    dreamshake,

The negative posts that I'm refering to are in this thread. Don't take it so personal.

I'll give you credit on your last post, this is the first time that you stated outright that there MIGHT be a perception that FA's don't want to come here. In all the other posts, my "weak mind" was left with the impression that you were of the opinion that the Rockets could do nothing right by FA's. After reading those posts, I started getting really annoyed, so I felt the need to vent by giving you my opinion of your posts. I believe in the Rockets future, the coaches, & the front office. There have been quite a few posters whining over & over that the Rockets can do nothing right. I believe other wise. I also realize that they have made mistakes & will in the future. The Rockets won't win the big one this year or next, but I believe that they will make the right decisions for this team to get back there.

Maybe the title should've been enough to tell me to avoid this thread if I didn't want to hear negative posts. I guess my "weak mind" failed me again. Actually, I try to read all the posts, because quite often, I read some great posts. The Cat's post (in my defense) really clarifies the point that I was trying to get across. If you feel compelled to get the last word in, then go for it, because this will be the last time that I respond to any more negative posts from you.

Oh, by the way, thanks for calling me a winner. I really appreciate that. [IMG]
