I've calmed down some. Tonight they weren't the clutchcity rockets but they still got another game. C'mon Rox prove me wrong... Prove me wrong!
People need to step up. That was ClutchCity. We know Yao and Tmac will do their part. Its the others that have to look in the mirror and ask what can I do?
Perhaps some of you forget that the Clutch City teams had some close calls/multiple elimination games/game 7's... It ain't over yet!

what i don't understand is why everyone is getting so upset. i knew utah would be a tough opponent. i knew we probably wouldnt win tonight, and i knew yao wouldnt be as good as he was earlier in the season. if you dont expect much you wont get so dissapointed.
It is not about Heart, it is all about shot. That heart is too vague to discern. Take Mavs for example, Dirk looks a God to save them from elimination in game 5. but he actually played very sofely, except for that he made his last two desperate 3s. Is this a heart thing? I think it is more likely a fluke. You have to make shots to turn yourself into a hero, plain and simple. Even if you are quick as Wade and get to the hole all the night, you may get it done when your shots in slump which makes you a loser. With a good touching and a confidence of taking tough shots will come by. That's what I am worried about TMac, not his heart. He should really improve his shots this off season.
Tonight was terrible. Just terrible to watch. I still think it has something to do with the Salt Lake City environment..something about the arena, or whatever. Just makes our players..Well, it could be the "stupid gatorade" that someone mentioned in this thread. I really don't know if we'll win game 7. Not if we play like this again. And yeah, Hayes plays well, Alston plays decently...but clutch city was nonexistent tonight. I love the Jazz flopping though. I thought, maybe the Rockets can practice on their flopping for next season, but then I thought, nah.
The biggest problem for the rockets in my mind is that this is a team that only two players can make there own plays consistently. Rafer can penetrate sometimes but almost never could finish it. All the other role players are just waiting motionlessly on their positions to expect TMac/Yao pass them the ball out of double team for an open shot. That is all what the rockets can do offensively in JVG's system. Look at Mavs, Suns, Spurs or GS Warriors, almost ever player, even the bench players have and can finish on their own plays.
If Baron Davis and the Warriors can come up with enough fire and grit to knock out dallas, T-Mac had better be able to come up with the same. I won't stand for another first round loss. I'm not being pessimistic, but I AM sick of only seeing that "I WANT TO WIN" look on T-Mac's face every 3 or 4 games. He should have that look EACH AND EVERY GAME; when he has it, he CANNOT be beaten.
Honestly... . With the way we played in Game 3 & 4, I don't really expect us to win game 6. I was thinking Game 7 all the way.
Like they won game 6 in 1994 in Phoenix??(that was the only situation the clutch city rockets had a game 6 on the other team's floor and a 3-2 lead going into that game. Phoenix won that game)
If I recall correctly the Rockets were never in that game. The point I was trying to make, was that they were down one late in the fourth quarter last nite and didnt get over the hump. The Clutch City squad would have won that game last nite.
Guys... the reason they earned the name Clutch City is that they managed to dig themselves out of holes several times. We won't know until Saturday whether this team has what it takes to gut it out.
Exactly, those guys put themselves in terrible situation and found ways to win. This Rockets team just needs to play a full 48 and Tracy is a different beast at home. Yes, the game was right there for the taking but it didn't happen. All of you giving up on the Rockets after last nite, please don't come back in here and celebrate after the game 7's win!
This season or future seasons WILL NOT NEVER EVER be looked same as 94-95 Clutchcity Rockets and we will forever compare that team with the future teams. Although, the future team(this year I hope) will make a new name for themselves. What do you all say, let's go and make a name for yourself, Rockets!
Get real. The only reason "Clutch City" exists is because the Rockets choked twice in NY and got hung with the Choke City moniker by the New York press. Says here that the Rockets stomp the sorry-a** Jazz tomorrow night. Book it. This city will be clutch again.
