It's fun watching disruptive defense get into the heads of the opposition too, instead of just watching them feast on one particular perimeter match up and get a layup line all game.

but if oladipo didnt take the midrangers to get into rhythm and adjust the aiming mechanism in his nervous system we would have lost by 30

I think we might eventually be working our way to the offense you just described, but as of now your perception doesn’t match the season long or post trade reality.

Compared to our Harden years we are passing the ball LESS per game, creating LESS open/wide open 3s per game AND our team is still LAST in player movement.

Creating great shots was never our problem in the past. It’s why our offenses were always elite.

I still am of the belief that an open shot is an open shot, but I don’t totally discredit the idea that more involvement (player and ball movement) can increase efficiency for psychological reasons. But as of now the player and ball movement hasn’t drastically changed in anyway.

Our success has been defense driven. Last night our 3 point shot was on so our offense looked great, but so far this year, for the first time in a very long time, our offense is our weak link.

I think what most of them mean by saying “win or lose” is not winning championship or maybe losing in a playoffs series. No one in their right minds would enjoy watching being the last team in the league or losing consistently. Merely appreciating the effort. For years we have seen make or miss strategy at the 3pt line without adjustment on the offense and defense. So watching this squad and coaching making dramatic changes is refreshing to watch.

Louder for the people in the back, please.

Whether you liked Harden or not, the "mindless three pointers" style of play allowed Houston to make the playoffs year in, year out. One doesn't have to crap on something in order to like something else. You can like both things.

I like wins not losses. And there is no reality where John Wall and gimp Cousins are fun to watch. Rockets suck.

Didn't wall and Dipo throw up a bunch of Iso 3's. The only reason they are fun is because they made them instead of bricking them

so you are satisfied with the mediocrity over winning it all after all?

correlation is not a causation... perhaps if there was less mindless 3pters and more thoughtful ones we would have been 2 times champions by now in harden era....

The more stakes in play the more defensive it gets(in every sport) it's sad he can't see it. You may get away with it in RS or first rounds but there is no way you win without defense in higher rounds. And it isn't something you turn on and off.. you got to practice it all the way to have instincts. So for now I don't see Brooklyn beating LA, and wouldn't be surprised if Philly bounced them

If I'm not mistaken under MDA/Harden the Rockets were routinely near the top of the league in wide open 3s. Guys just bricked them. There are better shooters on this team.

there are 3s that are rhythm and ones that are not...doesnt matter if its iso or not

but dipo got in the rhythm before that by hitting the middie couple of times

NO theyre not better shooters... guys are perhaps just more engaged all around and allowed to adjust aiming mechanism by doing all kind of other shots and play freely and that makes all the difference in the world

Throughout the Harden era, we were truly 'mediocre' like, maybe twice. Not sure what you mean by correlation and causation.

It's also possible to not like that style and understand that it's the very limitation of why we didn't go further in those playoff appearances, especially 2016-2018. Lol that guy calling people "halfwits" to prove his point. The irony is real.
