I have been around long enough to know "teams of the future" are greatly over estimated, no need to punt next half decade, just retool and build around Amen, Sengun, and Bari. I know they dont have 1a talent feel to them right now and I dislike Sengun archetype but I have seen enough chemistry and heart between those 3 to watch them develop. Harden years were my favorite as a fan even though I watched prime Hakeem as a kid because we won most of the games we were supposed to in the regular season and Harden got better and better. It was entertaining which is all.sports really is no matter how much we pretend like championship trophies affect our lives as fans
I think the most frustrating thing is that there's no clear and obvious path forward, given the current landscape of the West. If there were 3 options in a poll (optimize now, mid-term or long-term), I don't feel like any one option would get over 50%.
